Dark Brotherhood attacks

It doesn't make sense that the darkbrotherhood attack you at level one, you don't even know that your the Nereverine yet. So at what point in the main quest do you think the darkbrother hood would have attacked you?

I disagree. I think the Dark Brotherhood attacks can make sense. Our characters obviously have a reputation back in Cyrodiil or we would not have been released from prison. If we accept the idea that the Empire knows enough about this reputation to send us to Vvardenfell I think it is logical to accept that other people may also know about our reputation.

In my opinion, if an Imperial pardon makes sense then a Dark brotherhood attack can also make sense. They are equally motivated, or unmotivated, according to how one roleplays.

That said, I also think proper roleplaying will compel us to change our approach from game to game and character to character. I am a firm believer that one-size-fits-all rules, applied to every character, is not roleplaying. So I think that Dark Brotherhood attacks may make sense in the context of one character's story but may not make sense in the context of another character's story.

It's the introduction of a late-game quest, so I expect it to trigger in the late-game. Not necessarily due to the main quest though. I think it should still trigger if a character skips the main quest, when he becomes a "threat".

See this post why I think the early attacks don't make sense from the developers' point of view and that they can severely impair the fun of the early game with a new character: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1499157-delaying-tribunals-start/?p=23591531

Bottom line: Of course, if someone likes being attacked in one of the first nights of a new character, he can keep it this way, but to new players I would highly recommend using a delay mod, as I believe this should not even be called modding, as it merely restores the early game to how it was in the vanilla game and how it is supposed to be.

I have played both with and without a delay mod, without being my first attempt at the game, and I liked it so much more without the attacks in the second run.
