Dark Brotherhood or Morag Tong

I can't decide what I like better. We already have the Dark Brotherhood returning but what about the Morag Tog? What would you rather have?

What about something new? :P Of course if I were to choose, ill prob go for the Dark Brotherhood as it would make sense and I think the quests might be more interesting. Even better, i would prefer both but once again that might not be realistic for them to implement, if they were to provide both with full quest lines & inquest choices.

If I had to pick one it'd be the Morag Tong since they're legal, but it would be cool if they included both and made them mutually exclusive (which totally wouldn't happen since there would be too much gameplay value missed). They are sworn enemies after-all, and it would be a nice reflection of how the Civil War in Skyrim are forcing people to take sides.

I love the Tong but the Brotherhood fits Skyrim a lot better lore-wise. Can't make up my mind.

But you must remember they're only legal in Morrowind, in Skyrim they would be outlaws just as much as the dark brotherhood.
It would be great if both were indeed included and mutually exclusive to one another, it would add great replay value. (though i doubt bethesda would do this)

Realistically (and we know it's true) the Dark Brotherhood would be in Skyrim and the Morag Tong not. They were totally outdone by the DB everywhere but Morrowind, and then they were presumably all killed by the destruction of Vivec and eruption of Red Mountain. I also thought the Dark Brotherhood were cooler, though slightly cheesy. The MT were boring as hell.

I'd changed this poll a bit. Instead of simply "Both", it could be better to have options "Both are included, but incompatible — join only one" and "Both are included, you can join them at the same time".

I'd voted for "incompatible" then. It is good to have choices.

Well didn't the Dunmer flee to solsthiem and Skyrim? Couldn't some Morag Tong have escaped as well? They were on the mainland too? weren't they? I think it would make a cool questline for them to perform tasks for royalties in order to become legal in Skyrim but the Dark Brotherhood sapotaging them and there starts another outright war between the two groups... and it would make some epic quests for the Dark Brotherhood if you are sent to stop an assassination kill the assassin and finally track down his employer to show what happens when you hire other assassins.

With Skyrim sharing borders with both Cyrodil and Morrowind, and with a strong Imperial presence in the form of the Empire as well as a strong Dunmer presence in the form of refugees fleeing Vvardenfall, it'd make the most sense that both be present. It'd also be better for gameplay; variation = good in my opinion

The Dark Brotherhood because the Morag Tong has no place in Skyrim. Also the Dark Brotherhood has been in more games and is a bigger part of the lore.

Not sure...

Personally, I felt the Dark Brotherhood has little depth as a faction: the quests were good, but I never felt any real interest for their... philosophy, if they even actually have one.

Morag Tong, on the other hand, was one of my favourite factions in Morrowind. Even when I played a character that didn't join them, talking with a Morag Tong assassin made me feel a certain sense of both awe and respect. They felt not just stern and intimidating, but also wise and honourable.

But then, the Morag Tong was deeply linked to Morrowind culture and I think that was much of its charm in TES3.
So, I don't know how it would feel to have the Morag Tong in Skyrim: I'm a bit afraid it would feel out of place.

The Dark Brotherhood, on the other hand, would fit just about everywhere in Tamriel.
My concern with them is that, as a faction, they look hollow to me. They lack some truly intriguing ideals or ethics.
Maybe that's just fine, because some players like just that kind of mindset: ruthless killer only in it for the sake of money.

The Dark Brotherhood just won't be the same without Lucien...

Anyway, I'd like to see both factions in Skyrim, maybe at war with each other, and have some quests that are related to that. And it would be cool if both were joinable, but not at the same time.

I much prefer the Morag Tong, but the DB seem much more likely to be in Skyrim (the game, rather than the province, but possibly that too). Maybe we could see a surviving Morag Tong member working as a freelance assassin, or perhaps on a determined solo mission (read: vendetta) against the DB.

You know, mysterious super-disciplined assassin taking out DB members; DB assigns PC quest to find and kill the unknown assassin; PC locates assassin's lair and discovers his Morag Tong background; PC betrays DB and helps Morag Tong rogue -OR- sets him up and executes him for the DB.

I Need a something new option. Didn't vote.

I'd like as many factions as possible, so I voted for both, but if I'd have to choose one faction I'd rather have a new one, than the return of the Dark Brotherhood or the Morag Tong.

I don't know what the lore says about this, but I'd imagine the Morag Tong to be part of Morrowind / Vvardefell only, and because the Argonians have taken over Morrowind in the age where Skyrim takes place, it would make sence if the Morag Tong would have been eliminated down to the last member, unless some of them escaped to other provinces such as Cyrodiil and Skyrim. But if Morag Tong came to Skyrim, I don't expect them to be a huge guild that offers much quests to you that involve killing civilians, because it's not a legal guild in Skyrim as far as I know. So basically it's just another assassin guild in Skyrim, which means that they both could be in and fight against eachother for power, but if you side with the Dark Brotherhood you could easily assassinate all of Morag Tong because there are so few of them. However siding with the Morag Tong would get you the dark brotherhood after you and a lot of quests involving sabotage/theft and assassination of dark brotherhood members. If I am to choose however, I'd only want Dark Brotherhood to be in Skyrim, let the Morag Tong be wiped out by the Argonians.

If the Dark Brotherhood had already overpowered them in all places but Morrowind, I reckon with the losses they would have suffered and having no hideouts or anything, they would have had next to know chance of surviving long next to the continent-spanning guild.

If the dark brotherhood has the same approach as in Oblivion i'm going to cry... Then laugh at how ridiculously cheesy they are.
I doubt the Morag Tong still exists, and if they do they'll probably not have any sort of base in Skyrim.

Both would be great, would provide a named enemy and rival for contracts. If you can lose reputation with the rival guild, I would like the guild in question to respond with every new level of hatred against you. Also, the strength of the force attacking you would be relative to your rank, i.e. Dark Brotherhood, if your Murderer rank, the Morag Tong sends one recruit as well; If your Silencer rank, the Morag Tong will send one expert assassin or several low-medium rank members.

If, and hopefully, they add quest templates for guilds as well, it would be interesting being asked by a man if (Let's say my Infamy was decent) I was an assassin with the Dark Brotherhood, and he explains he didn't have the time to do the Night Mother Ritual, and would pay handsomely if I could get the job done immediately. Also, there could be quests where you would encounter your rival faction, who has the same anonymous contract, and is either forced to kill the rival assassin, compromise, or pay him off to leave.

In Oblivion, I enjoyed playing my Khajiit Assassin with the Dark Brotherhood. Perhaps if the Morag Tong is in this one, and is joinable, I might consider the Morag Tong this time around. I was sided more with the Dark Brotherhood though, so it will be a tough choice. (Which evil, ritualistic murderers, or commercial murders?)

I just didn't like how they tried to force it on me. I avoided murdering people and reloaded when i did just to avoid the DB Q line. I shouldn't have to do that.

Dark Brotherhood, even when they tried to kill me during Tribunal I still wanted to join them :P. I'm going on the theory that the Morag Tong is either, seriously crippled and no longer a major threat and maybe the Brotherhood decided to take the initiative to remove the Morag Tong permanently, or were outright destroyed with Red Mountains eruption and the Argonian invasion.

Going with in game experience Morag Tong, as they just felt more unique and less cut and dry "evil".
However as it's not Morrowind we're in this time, a DB tribe or off shoot with its own metheods and views would be nice.
