I seriously saved, and sat there and spammed give button and gave him my entire inventory to make sure, it's not there =\ I tried to pick pocket the 2 people he was talkin too before he set off too =\ And i stole the location list inside.. /sigh

You didn't get a letter with the quest? Did you reload prior to getting the quest and try again?

Went back and got the quest again in a different save..... Says I got it top left, nowhere in my inventory.

Just checking but did you check books and misc? It could be under either of them...I forget which. If your playing on pc go back to that old save and see what they name is when they add it and then use the console to give it to yourself. Other wise I'd say it's a bug.

Found the code for it on the wiki, i added it, STILL not in my gd inventory. I've checked EVERY tab.

I had a similar issue trying to find the incriminating letter but it had something to do with it starting with an "I" that I seriously couldn't find it at first. You may just have to go to a previous save, save it just before you get the quest, and check again. It should be in the books section.

PIckpocket the letter from dad letter off him while you're at it to feel even worse than you already should from watching Dad and Mom wish their son to stay well and safe and express their pride in him before he set off on his trip. Something wrong with whoever wrote the DB line this time around...

I don't know what to tell you bro... I'm on my third character (I play almost exclusively as Assassins, so all my characters have gone through the DB quests), and I have never run into this. It has given me no troubles whatsoever...

Aside from console commands, or reloading from previous saves, I don't have any info that may help at this time. But I think I'll go back with a separate fourth character and see if I can't find something to help you out. Wish I could have been more help for you though...
