Dark brotherhood quest line

Post » Fri Oct 14, 2011 4:50 am

So in oblivion i really liked the dark brotherhood quest line and actually it was probably my favorite guild and strangely the most welcoming friendly guild (except for that one khajiit) But there was one thing i didn't like about the quest line.
Spoiler
I didn't want to carry out the purification. Antoinetta Marie, Gogron gro-Bolmog, Ocheeva, Teinaava, Telaendril and Vicente Valtieri are all incredibly welcoming friendly and helpful to you. I had no problem completing contracts not caring if those characters were good or bad people but for some reason the dark brotherhood became a family to my character. Lets be honest most people in oblivion are not very nice to you sometimes if you do something for them they are but not like the dark brotherhood.

The purification was depressing it was like killing friends. And after the quest line was completed you learn that they were all innocent. And the svck ups the stick on you to fill the sanctuary are just not the same.

so i hope that the Skyrim quest line will not be like this.

It was sad, but I liked it for the same reason I like sad movies. It makes them even more memorable, and the way it ended in the Dark Brotherhood I found quite ironic. Maybe I'm just too much into depressing things.

No i agree it was a really good story line like as you said a sad film where something awful happens but you know if that hadn't happened the film wouldn't be as good. I just really liked those characters.

I felt the exact same way on my 1st play through. Once you know its coming though it has a lot less impact which is why I'm so keen with my 1st Skyrim play through to experience everything it has to offer with an open mind and play it like I'm living it!

Cant wait to join the Dark brotherhood but I'm not going to seek it out straight away I want to explore first!

HAY HAY i still did it! doesn't that make me perfect DB materiel doing something i really didn't want to do in service of Sithis and all that ;) better than some heartless killer who doesn't care about anything because how can someone like that ever be loyal to Sithis?

The worst part was killing the Khajiit after he started warming up to you.

The worst part was
Spoiler
killing Ocheeva, who welcomed you into the family and made you into the assassin you are, and killing M'raaj-Dar, who apologizes to you right before the mission...
