Dark Brotherhood Questions

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:27 pm

The DB is a business, they don't have moral qualities. Nobody ever implied otherwise, although I agree that individuals should probably have some doubts (but they sure hell wouldn't discuss them with fellow assassins).

Except no one actually in the business mentions making money or running the thing in any manner appropriate for a money-making venture. All we see is the damn cult all the way to the top.

The DB in Oblivion was a little different than in Morrowind,in Oblivion they pretty much killed people who kinda had it coming. So you could say their methods at times were questionable, but it was usally justice.I can't remember them going after anyone good or decent.

What do you mean? In Morrowind the Morag Tong killed scum that had it coming. I don't remember killing innocents, I remember killing scoundrals and corrupt nobleman. DB killed for bloodlust. The DB had the PC kill familys, retired guards, and an old wood elf.

Of course, people actually took hits out on those innocents, but the difference is that they really did not need to die. They weren't in the way of someone's political motives or players in a game of intrigue. They were small-fry being executed for petty, personal reasons. Presumably the Dark Brotherhood does more significant jobs as well, in keeping with its role of a political tool ala Morag Tong. Otherwise it may become irrelevant.

True. Like the murder of an entire royal family line.

Where did you read that liches don't have to be evil? I think they aren't evil i think they are brain dead and follow their instincts like Animals.

does joining the D.B. make me evil. I mean a lot of the quests sound pretty evil and thats my problem.

Is it evil to murder a lot of people including 2 old women and a teenage girl?

The Morag Tong kills for money too, and they didn't seem to care who the target was, as long as the price was right. After all, Larrius Varro, Baladas, and Dram Bero were targets (although its either Dram Bero or Baladas, depending on what Great House you're in).

EDIT: And lets not forget Athyn Sarethi.

Uhuh, the Morag Tong has very strict rules to thier exploitation. For example, I do not think foreigners are allowed to enlist their services, and a cool-down period between hits; meaning that the Hlaalu are not allowed throw the treasury of Vivec at the Morag Tong and ask for 10,000 hits and bop off the entirety of House Redoran.

Foreigners are allowed to be Morag Tong members, because you are able to be a member, and there are a bunch of other people who joined up to be MT assassins, other than dark elves. No, they follow strict rules

To become a lich one takes his soul and places it inside an object. Then you do some magical mumbo-jumbo and voila you're dead but your soul stays within your body and you start to rot.

(You know I didn't feel guilty at all after finishing the DB. There is something that bothers me though; why would the Listener do the KoTN quest?) To the point, I would say becoming a lich for your own purposes is vain.

Edit: Although I only finished the DB once and for the sake of finishing it purely. I don't really like the DB.

It's not possible in-game if that's what you're asking.
But lore wise I have no effing idea.
