Dark Brotherhood - Reserved for evil characters?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 5:41 am

I was debating joining the dark brotherhood, but thought it might be a bit too evil for me. Is there any honor in the dark brotherhood, sort of similar to the morag tong? Or is everyone an evil cold blooded murdering bastard? If this is the case then I would rather play the Dark Brotherhood on another playthrough with an evil character. No spoilers please.

It's not as evil as Oblivion and there's some honor.

Not sure how it affects your morality, but they have a passion for killing, so...
Armor is great tho.

The Dark Brotherhood is an assasin's guild so it's probably safe to say that most of the members are pretty cold blooded. My Oblivion character wasn't a cold blooded murder, but he joined the Brotherhood anyways because he was a theologian who wanted to learn more about Sithis.

I consider my character "perfect neutral" and joined pretty much all the guilds just so I would get loots and cash. x) So technically, I'm neither good or evil. Just greedy.

The bad/good thing about the guild: 2x backstab gloves. Although they are awesome, they make any sneaky characters godly. I went around in thieves guild armor with 2 regular unenchanted ebony daggers and just pummelled the crap out of everything cause of those gloves.

If it was the Morag Tong, I'd definitely join, but after Oblivion's Neutral (bordering Chaotic) Evil version of DB (Which I totally loved, btw), I'm holding off for my evil, pro-imperial character.

This is how I feel.

Is it at least not as "evil" as the DB in oblivion which felt like a religious cult?

Strange question but does it feel "cultish" like on oblivion, or is it more an organization of killers?

I've had two DB assassins after me, I don't know why. I had not done the MQ or anything but Winterhold. I wonder if it will be an issue when joining.

It reminds me more of the Morag Tong. Respect wise. Like how a mafia would have respect, but are looked upon as sinners. It has Honor to it, not like Oblivion where it's like "Hey let's be all sadistic and slice up some mo'fos and watch them bleed out hahahahaha mothers head."

So it;s more businesslike and less evil cullt.

Where as the Theives guild goes from Robin Hood to Mafia.

I'm going to join the DB guild

I'm an Arch-Mage
I'm doing thieves guild and companions quests

So I think I'm neutral...
I just like to do quests.
Not for the money. But it's because I enjoy doing quests... You know, it's like a tale.

if we just assassinated folk for the pleasure of it, well, that'd be evil. But we do it for the gold. So it is simply business. Um, and we obey Sithis.

My "good guy" in Oblivion joined just to infiltrate and destroy them. (and hey, if he got Shadowmare in the process, what's the harm?)

If it feels good, do it.
