Is there a way you can become a target of the Dark Brotherhood?

In one of my characters, I want them to come after me. Perhaps having a bounty on my head.

I don't know...Find out where they reside and 'dispatch' a few of them in front of their friends...Then run like hell...

yes: in one of the gameplay videos, E3 or Quakecon, he had a piece of paper with a black hand-print on it and he verbally confirmed that they would be in the game.

I don't think getting a bounty on your head will cause them to come after you (unless they're trying to recruit you). That will only attract the attention of bounty hunters. It may be possible that if you piss off the right people they'll hire the Dark Brotherhood to assassinate you. But it's probably impossible to determine what kinds of people would turn to the Dark Brotherhood for revenge.

but given their track record i would assume they would at least look for you and if they find you, tell you that fire balling peoples faces off is not nice and demand an written apology :tongue:

This is true... Nothing worse than having to write out a full apology letter... Especially when you're not really sincere.

It would be great if you pissed some one off enough for them to send the db after you. They could come when you sleep, being awoken by an ambush or an assassin.

Gets up to find an assassin sneaking into your house in the middle of the night. Party time. 'equips the gimp-mask'

Shouldn't be to hard to code in for the ownable houses.
Would be great fun, they keep coming, starting off with a lone guy, then 2, throw in chameleon and so on until you you find and cut of the head.

A cool way to get the Dark Brotherhood to hate you is if Bethesda added a series of quests that gave you the option to stop/interrupt the Dark Brotherhoods assassination attempts. Because frankly the thought of the members of the black hand shaking their fist's with rage because the Argonian Dragonborn is busy foiling all their plans. Fills me with a ludicrous amount of glee.

I don't think the Dark Brotherhood are really the avenging type. I was always under the impression that a member dying was simply considered a failure and dismissed. Sure, someone else might be dispatched to kill the target, but more to fulfill a contract rather than revenge.

I suppose if you go around hunting down Dark Brotherhood members the order might see you as enough of a pain to put you down. Dunno if the game has that mechanic in it though, but it would be nifty if any guild decided to take you out if you harass them enough.

What about the that retired guard who kept screwing up the Dark Brotherhoods plans in the Imperial City? That wasn't a contract that was a revenge mission.
