Dark Room

On my computer, I would adjust the screen brightness depending on how much light ambient light was in my real life location. Alway aimed for making night-eye useful.

Seems that folks think that it would make stealth better. But if you can't see here your foot falls, what's surrounding you, etc., it makes movement really slow and difficult (unless night-eye or som other NOD is used)

I agree, I want to be scared when I go into dungeons. In Oblivion it was never scary and that is something I feel could improve the games.

It would be good if the only way of you seeing was to use your torch (in Oblivion torches were useless) and even then you should only be able to see a few meters in front of you.
It would be good because it means you would be attacked out of nowhere because your light source would give away your location to monsters but you would have no idea what was coming at you :chaos:

i agree
i remember going through a lot of tombs and caves in morrowind and absolutely having to use a torch or spell to see
in obliv, i could be on the 3rd level of a cave and still somehow see light pouring in from all directions
i had like 4000 useless torches in my inventory by the time i was done with my playthroughs haha

In Oblivion, I always forced myself to use either light spell/night eye effect or torch unless I was being stealthy anytime that it was night or that I was in a dungeon for role-playing purposes. I also illuminated my friends, my horse, random livestock or deer but that was just for fun.

Oblivion: Torches and night eye spells are never needed, and are rendered useless! :0

I love dark areas and I think it was handled well in new vegas (that may be due to some mods though). New vegas is completely pitch black at night, so dark that I must sleep for my 8 hours.

On elderscrolls. I think ancestral tombs should have some ambient lighting if family want's to pay their respects but spider caves and other dungeons shouldn't have glowing rocks.

Design the game so we can have a torch in one hand (which would limit choices if you trained up your two-handed weapons) or have it attached to our back or something. It is unreasonably to have glowing stones everywhere!

I wouldnt mind darker areas, Bleak Falls Barrow was kinda hard to judge, since there were torches all over the place, and holes where light came in.

While I'm all for it, if there are, I might end up regretting it.

Two words: spider cave

*shudder*

I agree, I think that making a dungeon so dark that you are required to carry a torch gives you a better sense of immersion.

Light spell, light potion, light scroll, light enchantment.
