Google is a beast for the most obscure things. You'd also be surprised just how often Oblivion turns up even in totally unrelated searches :)

Google is your friend. I usually just google "Oblivion" and whatever phrase I'm trying to track and I get pretty lucky. Let us know how you make out, good luck :foodndrink:

I guess so! :facepalm:

After you told me I Googled it myself. Seems he has a thing about the reflect spells—which I guess both the Scepter and Mask have. Problem is you have to drop the item to cast the "Fix" spell. I can drop the Scepter but not the Mask. I have tried putting the Duke mods before DH—no joy. Now I'm going to disable them to see if I can then drop the Mask.

I'll let you know later. For the nonce, life intervenes :stare:

~ It didn't show in the load order because BOSS didn't know what to do with it and dropped it at the end. The LO I included was actually the Bash Patch because it was the easiest to cut and paste, and, of course they didn't show up. ~

If you are using Wrye bash theres an easy way to post your load order http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/35230-1-1295880354.jpg

Thank you.
Now... Where did you get that page. I have downloaded and read (and re-read) your Pictorial Guides (Basics & Installers, and Installers) and have not seen that page. Do you have another one?

:hubbahubba: On TESNexus if you look (left click) any of the Images, they zoom bigger, however if you right click instead and choose Open in New Tab ... Then just copy the URL for posting. That particular one is right down the bottom of the images (just after all the DarkUI DarN images), like http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/35230-1-1295880377.jpg

@Drkrder

Okay. I've had a little chance to do some investigative work. The spell problem is indeed due to "Duke Patrick's Combat Magic." I have talked to the author who indicated he used a particular scripting technique that causes this. He is in the process of changing out the procedure for something he calls "ref walking." So that will be solved soon.

In the meantime I have removed those mods. i am still having the problem of dropping the Jester's Mask. Here is what I found. Using a mod called "FormIDFinder4" (which, if I had used int he first place would have saved all of us a lot of trouble :sadvaultboy: ) It tells me that the icon is missing from: Textures/Menus/icons.

I'm not sure if this is why it hangs in the air when dropped, because the object mesh is found and the mask "looks" fine. It's just hanging in mid-air and can't be touched. Another strange thing. When in inventory it has the FormID of: xx018dec but when dropped it can't be found by the FormIDFinder. it can be selected in the Console but the ID is changed to ff0713f8.

However the Console says that ID does not exist???

Usually a mesh that hangs in the air after being dropped has the wrong type of collision, or perhaps even no collision at all. I'd lean toward the latter if you can't activate it again once you've dropped it.

The ff0713f8 reference is a normal occurrence. All items dropped from your inventory get something starting with FF as a reference. The FF index is assigned to the save.

Thanks Arthmoor. That explains problems I've had before trying to get FormIDs. I knew that "ff" was assigned to vanilla items—I guess tha would logically include saves.

It's not game-breaking but i guess Drkrder can take note. Since I have played a bit after dropping it I didn't want to go back to get it. So I just loaded a previous save, got the ID while it was still in inventory and spawned another.
