Description:

Darkess Hollows is a Halloween themed dungeon adventure plugin for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Once the plugin has been activated and the game loaded, travel to the forests of the West Weald in search of an abandoned homestead. Inside, search out a mysterious painting of a lost realm called Darkness Hollows. The painting is a portal that will deliver you to the wooded vale and the terrible adventure awaiting you within the hollow's ruined fortress...Castle Thatchmoon. Once you enter Castle Thatchmoon there is no escape, no one ever escapes, but your only chance of being the first is to be well prepared for a long dungeon crawl BEFORE you enter. Players are advised to have both a ranged weapon and an enchanted weapon before attempting Darkness Hollows. For the best results, play in the dark without music and without magic effects like "Nighteye" and "DetectLife". Be wary in your adventuring hero...

Features:
  • A Haunting Forest Setting
  • Detailed Backstory to Explore
  • New Enemies!
  • Unique Weapons!
  • A Halloween Atmosphere
  • A Dozen Unique Levels
  • Traps and Puzzles
  • Voiced Dialogue!
  • Big Boss Battle!
  • Fun Rewards!
  • And More...

Important Info:

  • Companions: If your Companions do not have a summon spell you can use to call them to you, leave them at home! There are places within Darkness Hollows they simply cannot go without being lost or killed. We are not responsible for any poor creatures who end up in the abyss for eternity because their PC partners didn't heed sound advice.

  • Levels: We recommend characters be at least level 15+ before attempting Darkness Hollows. While some enemies are leveled to give a bit of a break, some are not and are rather difficult at lower levels.

  • Godmode: While you may be tempted to use godmode to brave the horrors in Darkness Holllows, don't. There are some scripts running that will not fire properly if you are in godmode and you will not be able to proceed.

  • Collision/Clipping: Do not use the "tcl" console command to navigate through Darkness Hollows. There are collision boxes designed to guide your immersion and trigger zones to progress events, both of which can be drifted through with collision toggled off resulting in a bad experience for you, so give your console the night off.

Known Conflicts:

  • MMM in Darkness Hollows: As this is a manor dungeon crawl mod, you can naturally expect a number of spawning enemies to keep you on your toes. That said, MMM users may encounter some significant FPS loss in one or two levels of Darkness Hollows due to the increased spawns. You may want to use a spawn rate reducing plugin when running the two mods together.

  • Cute Elves Race: If you are using the Cute Elves Race and have the CuteElf11.esp then you WILL need this patch: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32685
It fixes a dirty edit in the Cute Elves mod that was overlooked before release and alters a vanilla portal, making a vanilla quest and many modded quests unplayable. With Darkness Hollows, there are three portals in the mod that, with Cute Elves, will be redirected to the Cute Elf Retreat. The patch linked above will fix this issue.

A little late this year but none of us is complaining. :cake: As the reason for the delay decided to be born a few days early and is absolutely the most beautimous baby girl ever. :hugs: Everyone grab a download, enjoy the mayhem and toss some cigars at DarkRider and his wife for their new addition to the family.

Don't think I'm going to get to Darkness Hollows in time to vote, but I'm damn sure going to get there.

How could anyone resist the work of this talented bunch of scare mongers? :shocking:

Woop updates and bugfixes already .. grabbing.

Greenwarden you sound divine, (erm, disclaimer; not being flirty with a moderator :)) judging by other comments above I wasn't the only one to have the same thought "Who is that, we have a very good new voice actor somewhere"

Its too early to go blabbing about any details but I must say this is superb, story lead is just right, artwork amazing, and the atmosphere just walking the player into the mod is superb. I have only just started but the quality is obvious, gamesas eat your heart out, hope they are taking notes this would sell better than any DLCs did.

My first fail? - Someone let the stealthy zulu's and their blow darts loose again, maybe I should be starting this at the recommended level :) (its just too tempting). I dont think I will finish before voting close date, need to build up some before going at this seriously (wish I hadn't started a new game last week, my experienced saves are written over)

@ WhoGuru ... You dont scare me the lights are o. . . . Wait, "who turned the lights off, Hello!" :ahhh:

I don't like scares, but would love to try this out. Am never a big fan of non-nighteye gameplay, as I just don't like creeping in pitch-black dark... but I'll try for the heebie-jeebies...

I think more people will get a chance to play it over the weekend. I just started it and can vote when I finish. Wherever the atmospheric sweetspot is, I haven't hit it yet, but if it's anything like The Oubliette there will be one. :liplick:
