http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h61/TheDarknut/MGEScreenshot5-1.jpg (these are the vanilla textures with a Displacement map applied to them)
Could you explain how it is done? Would the effect of the displacement map be calculated by the Morrowind engine, or do you apply the full effect beforehand?
I think the effect is done to the texture not the actual ground mesh.... As far as I am aware MW engine cant do any sort of bump mapping without a reflection map in place.

This looks wonderful, Darknut!:goodjob: I've always appreciated your fidelity to the original Bethesda concepts in your retextures, and these again look very faithful to the original.
Excellent work darknut, please see it through. I have used many of your textures since original release. Will you be posting a link to elric ? I do hope so as I no longer use PES.
Looking good! I especially liked the imperial textures in the courtyard pic. Some modders go for their personal view of what morrowind should look like; to me all of these are more thna welcome, the more the merrier.
I'm still working on these as well ..... things have taken a little different turn now though http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h61/TheDarknut/balmoraFlat.jpg
Like the multi-layered-alphaed technique (there was a thread about that a while ago - yours? - forgot the proper name )? I know DN is fond of displacement maps - I hope the above technique is actually using displacement maps, not multi-layers...
Definately not layers, seems to be the same thing he's working on in http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=880659thread. Looks very interesting.
These look lovely! Love the BC stuff. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the Ashland retexture, it's kind of ... "strong", I'd personally like a softer version. All in all, this is some great work!
