[WIPz] Darknut World Textures

Post » Wed Feb 02, 2011 1:27 am

I would like to see some screenies of these textures on your PC's ... so I can see if it looks close to the way it looks on My PC

thanks in advance.

Sure My card can handle the size. I have a few other peoples textures I'm testing so you you point me to all the cool spot where it's all you. I don't use MGE or anything is that going to make a difference?

Resolution isn't everything. I'll just quote Skydye:

 povuholo I'm Bipolar I wouldn't put too much stock in what I say as in a few days I'll just end up contradicting myself.

Most of the ground textures & trees will show up around Seyda Neen .... actually a lot of the wood will as well ...Shacks, docks, post ,etc

I think the barrels, crates & possible some furniture will be in Balmora & I think some of the ground textures may show up there as well

Based on my testing, MW really will use insanely large textures without downsizing. Of course it's matter of preference whether it's actually worth doing that.

They look great Darknut, I do get a lot of shimmering now though, probably because AA isn't working and the fact the textures are so detailed, I got it in Oblivion too when I upgraded to higher res textures, I can live with it though :)

I must say, your process works extremely well on wood and metal (the lanterns and crates look great), but the ground textures just aren't "groundy" enough for me. *chuckle* Except for the grass - that I quite like.

All these textures are the vanilla textures .... tweaked .... tweaked maybe to near death in some cases :D

Yeah I get that too if I'm running in 1920 x 1080 without AA.

In the end I will try to find a happy medium in the detail so that will be reduced quite a bit. .... playing with the mip map settings will prob help as well.

Yes, I know. I just meant that your tweaking seems to work a lot better on the metal and wood. And the grass. *chuckle*

Cool I'll look forward to the new textures, but I'm sticking with these for now they are the best I've seen in Morrowind so far.

If your running really high res & are getting the "shimmering" effect with the beta textures & your using MGE .... try setting the Mipmap LOD bias to 0

I agree with you on the wood and metal.

Sorry if other textures appear.

Do you have a timeframe on when you think you might be done? This month? Next Month? Sometime Before the end of the Year? The Century?

I like very much the effect on the rocks and Balmora wall in the latest screens! Very "bumpy"!

Wow, really high quality on the texture itself, I do however not like the snow on top of it :/
