[RELZ/WIPZ/BETA] DarNified UI

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 6:39 am

it certainly looks like we are the only people testing right now. im in the UK and its pretty late but im more than happy to help test stuff with you as it does seem that 1.3.2 cased me more problems that most

its possible due to me being on vista 64 - so much of Oblivion makes me jump through extra hoops beacuse of this....but anyhow...im very interested to know what your "culprit" was. you cant just fix it and then keep silent thus upholding your genius status. you need to show your humanity and underlying fallability!

Oh - i am also holding the phone.

Excelent work Darn

The 1.3.2 b2 version works perfectly now for me on all my save games. No CTD's. many thanks for sorting that one out.

i have a question; during the install of the OMOD, your script asks whether you would like the custom fonts, the documentation, coloured local map etc.

One of the questions is whether you would like the "classic inventory". I always answer "no" to this ie: i dont select it as one of the items to install

however, when Im in-game, the UI screen when you hit tab looks exactly the same to me as the picture you show for "classic inventory" in the loading screen.
Am I missing something or do they look the same - one just has less functionality?

i suspect I am only scratching the surface of what your UI can do (i mainly use it to customize the main in game look and feel, rather than how things look when you hit tab)

The default (wz_) inventory can go from http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/10763-2-1205949211.jpg to http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/10763-1191080829.jpg. Just click the little "diamond" at the top left to try it out. It can collapse/expand the headers when you click them, so you won't have 1000 keys to scroll through, etc.

The classic inventory can't do any of this, but it performs a hell of a lot faster with lots of items.

I made the journal theme of the default as close to the old classic as possible, hence the difference is hard to tell. :)

I am very sorry, maybe it is cause I am tired, but do we get that wz inventory feature with this one? If so, I don't have the diamond. No biggie for me, just figured I would mention it :)

That has been included since 1.2.5, and has been the default inventory since 1.3.0. If you don't have the "diamond", you're probably selecting the classic inventory in the installer.

Ah ha! That was it, no more classic inventory for me :)

Everything looks great, no flaws that I noticed.

Wow, DarN is back!
Well, I'll be reviewing the last 3 pages of forum threads that have happened in the last three days later tonight and will begin work on the DarkUI version.

None that I noticed. I haven't had a chance to really check everything out, but the things I did look at, nothing popped out at me.

Hm. No idea. If you have 1.1.12, you should be all set.

Hi there DarN,

I played for few hours yesterday with this beta installed and I didn't spotted any noticeable problems ... Everything is working great so far.

Thank you again for this great mod!

Cheers,

I am a noob but very happy for my family to be a test rat, guine pig rabbit if you still need testers.
But having got darkdarnified UI to work and tried it out I returned from the darkside and went back to "straight" darnified UI with wood texture:) I will just update my UI with this one from now on. Oh and since there are three players one user the morrowind style wz inventory. If you don't need testers ( and even if you do) then just have mars bar for creating such a great mod.

Keychain: This mod is not compatible (nor required) with the default inventory. May cause lag.

 It's not needed, but how is it incompatible or cause lag? Do you mean this for the earlier versions? I use several techniques from Keychain elsewhere, so it'd be nice to know.

The lag comment is there because users reported lags of 20-30 seconds when opening the inventory with the mod active. The two perform similar functions, so I guess they kinda clashed. If it lags that much, I'd say it's pretty incompatible. :)

 never had a problem/lag with it, so I was hoping for some more details. I assume that it was the older versions, and since I know about that conflict I'll be content with that answer :)

DarN, Oblivion Mod Manager is giving me the following error message, when I try to install the OMOD version of 1.3.2:

C# script failed to compile.

Mod Manager subsequently marks that OMOD as successfully installed. I will update this post if there is a problem with the in-game results.

You need v1.1.12.
