data files?

I'm sure you have all heard this question a number of times but i have downloaded my mods, unzipped the files and put the textures, meshes, sound etc in my Fo3 data folder. Yet my mods still do not show up in the "data files" at the fallout launch or in fomm. Does anyone know what the problem is? I am using Fallout 3 goty

Did you unzip the included ESP? Does the mod even use an ESP and its one of those mods you just install and it works (Replacer mods)?

Did you read any of the readme files that came with the mods for installation instructions?

There is a line in your .ini files in a folder where your saves goes in My-Documents-My Game-Fallout3 to activate your mods. Look for this binvalidateolderfiles=0 and turn that 0 into 1 and your mods should work.
