Data Patch C - Something fixed something broken..

Post » Sun Mar 10, 2013 7:29 am

I speak from the rare minority of players that have had low lag, good matchmaking, and few migrations - and in turn have been seeing the game at its best and loving it.

Last night I got to see what people have been complaining about first hand. With Patch C my experience is a regression.

I'm matching immediately, but textures pop in more than before, there is a more pervasive latency which softens all of the twitch reflexes.

One definitive test for me has been this, from the beginning, if you power kick a car and it hesitates for a half second before taking to the air, you know something's up. First thing I do when I suspect I'm in a slow matchup.

I have had cars that flew from my boot fluidly and instantly always before Patch C. Aside from two occasions when I had poor hosts on the less populous game types, the cars would always fly.

Crytek, I'm sure you have put some forward progress with this patch, but please can you explore what may be weakening the experience for users which were silky and satisfied before!

I am in the UK, on an Xbox 360.

This seems to be the case in the PS3 too. I used to be able to play perfectly fine but now it just doesn't play as smoothly as before. Energy bars now go crazy all the time, enemies kill from more ridicolous stuff than before and so on. The worst case is probably when I shot the Ceph Gunship with the JAW and I didn't even get a hit marker.
