So I've used David Humphrey's Furniture for years, and for me it's an absolute must for player homes. Unfortunately, I have never been able to find a fix for the immediate CTD which occurs if the player purchases the same item twice. I've tried using John Moonsugar's patch but it did nothing. Additionally, in the readme for his patch, he mentions that the CTD only occurs if you had previously purchased a furniture ring or book, but I've tried purchasing the same item twice with fresh saves that have purchased neither item and I still get a CTD.

The only way I've been able to get around the problem is by adding the items to my inventory via the console, and that's not really a solution.

That being said, I have no idea what causes the problem or how to fix it, but it's high time I figured it out, since I play with this mod all the time and have had quite enough of this issue. I don't think it's a problem with scripted items, as I've never encountered the bug with any other mod that uses them, and the problem (at least for me) doesn't seem to stem from the furniture ring or furniture book. So what could it be? Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you ever tried this mod by itself to see if you get the same crashing symptoms?

I have. I only recently found out about the patch but it didn't seem to do anything for me. I have always experienced the same crashes no matter what.
