After installing Dawnguard Break of Dawn no longer works. As in after i picked up the Dawnbreaker Meridia will not show up. This worked prior to Dawnguard. Also i tried doing the whole Quest two times from different Saves. With the same result. I actually wanted to get the Dawnbreaker for Dawnguard i figured it would fit, but now it aperently broke the Quest

After installing Dawnguard my nordic character lvl 62 can't regenerate stamina, i tried uninstalling the DLC and clearing the cache, but it doesn't work.
Someone could help me? I don't want to erase my 180 hours save TT-TT

Probably already reported, but I was too lazy to read through the entire thread.

Dead Drop Mine - dropped a bit of the map.

It is the part of the cave with the four ore veins, I step out, jump out or whirlwind sprint out into the big blue yonder my character ends up back at the entrance to this room. And yet my portal into the secret world of level design does look like a secret door.

Going back to the previous door/loading point and trying again, actually got me the corridor.

When you equip one of the Thieves Guild or Linwe Hoods on your vampire character. It will show your character with no hood equipped and you will have a huge bald spot on your head until you unequip the hood.

I also had this^ on my vampire character.

Though the worst bug so far is NPCs attacking my werewolf when in human form. At first I thought this was something like an "invisible bounty" glitch that I had experienced before DG, but I now believe it is related solely to being a werewolf, as my vampire character kills the same radiant NPCs and has completed similar criminal behaviors and has successfully had no bounty and never been attacked by city NPCs and other "guard" or "soldier" NPCs (Dawnguard members included).

My main werewolf character is repeatedly attacked by those types of NPCs and guards, with no option to yield. The only fix is going to another Hold where it is peaceful and getting a bounty and then paying it off. Extremely frustrating, to say the least. I had to kill the first 3 DG members, the huskies, and I dueled Tolan and Isran indefinitely before I figured out what was going on and stopped to use that "fix" method. I believe this glitch has been around pre-DG, though.

Had two (possibly three) more substantial bugs occur.

1. For "Rescued" radiant quest, was sent to rescue kidnapped shopkeeper (just a random shopkeeper, not a special friend or anything) from Windhelm, Hillevi Cruel-Sea. When I got to the cave she was held in and fought my way through it, at the end she was an ash pile. Went back to the entrance autosave and snuck my way through, arriving thoroughly undetected, and her corpse was lying there. Went well back once more and tried stealth, this time avoiding even any conflict prior to entering the place; she was still lying dead on the ground. (The latter two weren't ash piles, just corpses.) Regardless, when I went back to Fort Dawnguard, Florentius congratulated me on rescuing her. I wonder if maybe she hadn't been randomly killed at some point and I'd never discovered it, then the game grabbed her corpse and used it for the quest, though that wouldn't explain the ash pile the first time around.

2. At the very end of "Touching the Sky," just as I killed the Arch-Canon, Serana started using the vampiric drain (or whatever it's called) on him, and was stuck there draining life from the corpse. I went and got Auriel's Bow, she was still stuck there. Rather than re-fight the Arch-Canon, I just started attacking her until she was knocked down, and that stopped her so we were able to proceed.

3. Not sure if this one is a bug, but in one game, the very first thing Isran did after I joined up was give me the "Jarl's Justice" radiant quest. Once that was done, he directed me to Gunmar. In another game, I spoke to Gunmar first who set us started on his radiant quests, and Isran just kept directing me to him whenever I asked him what can be done. Once I finished all of Gunmar's quests, I started getting sent to Florentius. Don't know if it's just random that I haven't gotten "Justice" yet, if I have to finish everyone else's quest chains, or if something isn't working right.

Incidentally, problems 1 & 3 occurred with a level 75 character who has completed the Civil War quest (Imperial side) as well as the main quest and the companions. Problem 2 occurred with a character who hasn't completed the main quest or done anything more that start any of the major faction storylines.

I believe you may be correct in that last sentence, but I am quite sure she was an ash pile the first time because you fought your way in. Vampires will raise dead NPC bodies for every fight if they're available. I'm sure she was raised briefly while you were defeating them, and then dissolved once the vampire that raised her was killed.

Still, I don't understand how you completed the quest successfully, though I had a strange similar situation with a recent Thieves Guild quest. I was told to steal from Uthgerd the Unbroken's house in Whiterun, though she's been dead since very early in my game. I was sure I would be scolded for having the target die for the robbery, but when I returned to Vex she acted like everything was normal, even though I just robbed an empty house of someone I'm quite sure I killed weeks earlier, back before I had joined the Guild.

*Spoiler ahead*

I can't return to the Soul Cairn after finishing the Dawnguard questline on the Dawnguard side. The only thing that happens is that the portal drains my health like the first time you try to enter. I've tried to enter as both human and vampire, but nothing works.

When I tell Serana to wait, there is no option to make her follow me again and is therefor permanently stuck

Sometimes, when talking to Serana, some dialog options that are supposed to be vampire-restricted is available for a Dawnguard player, e.g. "It's ironic that we're helping these priests" when you are at the Secret Vale

Weapon rackets/holders and dagger rackets doesn't work any more. You can still place items in the rackets, but they will then be frozen on spot so that you can't take them up again. If you try to activate the racket, you will only place a new item on top of the item that was already placed.

And here are some other major bugs that aren't related to Dawnguard:

I can't learn all words of "Clear Skies". I learned the first word, but the other two words are still in the High Hrothgar courtyard, but they can't be interacted with.

The death animation of dragons that respawn doesn't work properly. When they die, I can't absorb their soul and their skin will remain on the corpse. It appears though as if dragons that appears randomly works like it should.

I have a bug whereupon the "Vampiric Grip" works as normal but does no choke damage, even if I hold the button down until my entire 700+ magicka pool is exhausted.... Deleted dawnguard and title download, cleaned hard drive of xbox and am now re-downloading to see if it helps... After reading all these bugs though I am quitting skyrim until a patch is released! Don't fancy ruining hundreds of hours of work! Also I can confirm having had the bug where the vampire/werewolf counter increases even if cured *sigh* Bethesda why do you do this to us? I think Skyrim is the best RPG ever made but the amount of bugs is unprecedented =/

Didn't see this topic, when I posted in the other report topic, but basically coming in here to confirm, and also say that I have the dirty vampire face glitch that happens because I have makeup on my nord female character, and did not remove it before being turned by Harkon. When I turn into a Vampire Lord the dirt texture does infact go away, but trying to load different saves, feeding, and basically anything else besides turning into the Lord form will not get rid of it. This glitch seems to happen even if you've had a vampire character that's never been caught out in daylight hours.

Update, I deleted and reinstalled dawnguard and the title download patch to no avail, my vampiric grip still does no choke damage, as this is the signature move of the entire dlc and being a vamp lord this is a total game breaker for me and makes me want to quit playing =[

I can't even find him in the Vamp Castle either. This NPC just fell off the map for me. Can't do his side quests now.

Found something strange last night.
While walking around looking for Isran in the Vamp Castle, I was using "Aura Whisper". When I did this shout in the final room of the main quest to kill Lord Harkon, I saw several images of "life" hidden within the walls of that room.

Is that normal?

Two ingame weeks after the battle at the Vamp Castle, Isran finally showed up at Fort Dawnguard again. I had been doing side quests there the whole time, so I know it was roughly two weeks before he showed up. I don't think this is deliberate.

I didn't see any life when I was in there, that's interesting. It might be Gargoyles that aren't coming out.

I started a new character by loading a save made right before the character creation scene and when I got to the point where I'm about to executed, Alduin would not land on the nearby tower, thereby halting any progress through Unbound.

That's fixed by reloading.

Type of Bug: General
Bug: When getting Hjerim, after you buy all the upgrades, chests inside the house will not appear.
Additional Notes: Finished Blood on the Ice, bought the clean up first, did everything to prevent normal bugs.

At First sorry for my English I'm from Austria.

After i installed Dawnguard the Horse from the Dark Brotherhood dont come. I go to The Black Water in front of the Brotherhood i hear the Horse but no one comes. I thougt its invisible so i shout the "Auraflüstern" (sorry i dont know the name in english its the shout to see life) but i see nothing.

Thats the first time i dont get it .... maybe its a Bug from Dawnguard.
Try deleting dawnguard and load an older save, if it works then your save is corrupted because of Dawnguard!

I'm going to rewrite my bug so it fits on the list:

Type of Bug: General
Bug: I can't return to the Soul Cairn through the portal. The only thing that happens is that the portal drains my health like the first time you try to enter.
Additional notes: I completed the Dawnguard questline on the Dawnguard side, I never tried to return there while I was doing the Dawnguard quests (I first tried to return there after I had completed the last quest), Serana was following me when I tried to enter again, I tried as both human and vampire (nothing worked), I'm in level 50 and play on expert.

Just to clarify: when it came time to enter the Soul Cairn, did you have Serana turn you into a VL or did you soul trap yourself? I have a feeling this bug only presents itself if you decided to become a VL and then cured yourself. I ran into this same problem in my playthrough. I played on the Dawnguard and had Serana turn me into a VL to get through the Soul Cairn, and then I got cured so I could complete the questline (Isran won't talk to you as a vampire lord which is an expected drawback I suppose but a righteous pain nonetheless). I reclaimed my lycanthropy and kept playing. Later, I thought about going back to see what I had missed and I ran into the same problem you did, couldn't re-enter. However, when I had Serana bite me and turn me into a Vampire Lord, I WAS able to go back inside. I'm curious to see if anyone else was able to.

On a side note, I think it is incredibly irritating that one of the main draws of the DLC would have such an obvious problem with it. If you are going to give people the option to be a vampire lord even after siding with the Dawnguard, it would be nice for the functionality to not be crippling to your progress through the quest as well as having numerous bugs associated with it. I mean my game has a glitch where I am now forcibly turned into a vampire randomly, and it seems to be connected to my switching back and forth. I've had to cure my vampirism like 7 times. Not only that, the game still thinks I'm a werewolf, as my "days as a werewolf" statistic just passed the 100 mark and continues to climb.

I'm grateful to not have any game breaking glitches for certain, but all this little crap can snowball over time, and it is seriously starting to become annoying. I trust in Todd and all the talented people at Bethesda though. Skyrim is an awesome game and I don't doubt they will fix this stuff, but I hope it is soon. Having played through Morrowind and Oblivion, I remember a lot of glitches (heck you could kill quest related folks in Morrowind and I remember the old Clavicus Vile glitch from Oblivion, which I didn't have an internet connection to patch) but I don't remember there being a vast swarm of them like there seems to be in Skyrim.

Type of bug: Quest specific - Lost to the Ages
Bug: Unable to forge Aetherial Crown as Flawless Sapphires are not recognized as being in inventory
Additional Notes: First try I didn't realize I already had the sapphires in inventory. When I saw that I did I dropped them out, first all at once, and then one at a time. Forge would still not recognize them. Figured it might only recognize sapphires found in the room itself so I found those but the crown still wasn't an option. Reloaded a save prior to entering the forge room, tried again, crown still not available. Shut game down, restarted, loaded and played through again...crown still not available. Got tired of trying and picked the shield!

Type of bug: General - Thieves guild cistern
Bug: Delvin & Vex repeat introductory "Side job" and "Special job" speeches EVERY time I go back to turn in more quests.
Additional notes: It isn't game breaking, just annoying that I have to cycle through their speeches every single time. Even if a job is in Riften, as soon as I zone out it seems to reset. Zone back in and I have to go back through four special job speeches with Delvin and the 'Here's how you do each job' speech with Vex. Never did this until Dawnguard was downloaded.

Quest Specific-one bug i noticed was with the main quest line for the dawnguard. if you accidentally hit the moth priest once after he yields he will not stop being hostile towards you. i waited for days and he always reapears and is hostile.

General-another one i noticed is with the weapon "improved crossbow". if you add an enchantment to it, it does not show up on the weapon.

General-another i noticed was with the werewolf. after you transform i wasnt able to swing my arms and attack. so im completely vulnerable.i just run around and my attack buttons do not work.

General-also the armored dogs you can have accompany you on the dawnguard die extremely easy. i could not find my dog so i waited 24 hours then wandered over and found it dead. they need to be stronger.

General-also the armored trolls disapear out of nowhere and before i find them they leave my service. they dont spawn with you after you enter a new area. its quite annoying and needs to be fixed.

General- cannot improve my dragon bone weapons past "fine". my smithing is at 100 and even when i wear stuff to improve it my weapons will not improve past "fine".

these are all the bugs ive encountered for now and i hope im helping.

Hey, some bugs from the italian version of Dawnguard, just wanted to be sure no one has already posted them:

Vampire/Graphic bug type:
Both Harkan and the player when transforming into Vampire Lord become invisible

Graphic bug type:
Most of dlc enemies are invisible (Gagoyles, skeletons, falmers, chauruses, hellhounds, some vampires, sometimes Harkan too, new legendary dragons, Durmevir, summoned horse Arvak.)

Gameplay bug type:
When in Vampire Lord form, besides being invisible, player can't interact with any object including enemies corpses, doors and such.

Gameplay bug type:
Any piece of armor, besides being invisible, has no defence at all, just as if it was normal clothing (ex. falmer heavy armor) and also it is not listed as armor (heavy or light)

Ps: from what i've read, patch will fix npcs, but what about invisible enemies, Arvak and character? Hope this is solving these problems too.

After completing DG as the Dawnguard, I have found that Serana becomes bugged:

If I asks her to wait, I cannot get the option to have her follow me to trigger when speaking to her.

If I tell her we should part ways, she becomes essentially a on-line npc. Replies with one word, or useless tripe when you go to talk to her.

So essentially, if you want here around - it's forever! Sheesh! And people are complaining they can't marry her- I'm stuck with her forever. That is, unless I never want to use her services again.

Her behavior was noted under Vampire bugs, but this is different I presume.

Thanks. I'll just wait some more then. Been doing the same with the side quests myself. Was hoping to complete his too.

I'll recheck the "life" I found in the castle. I didn't see any Gargoyle statues where the life was. It looked like they were within the walls. If I even find the "Detect Life" spell, I'll try that one as well in that room. Maybe it triggers if you play the Vampire side? I'll test that theory when I replay Dawnguard.
