Dawnguard dwemer question

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2016 3:32 pm

In my past character it took a long long time to get through this dwemer ruins. I asked my brother and it took several hours too for him. It′s the dwemer ruins to get the elder scroll for dawnguard. I am wondering if their is a shortcut so I don′t have to have that 2 hour agony again.

Nope. But that is, like, a fourth of the entire questline, if you′re considering the Blackreach as part of the ruins. Just try to enjoy it.

That section of the Dawnguard quest line is also a part of the Main Quest, so you're sort of doing two things at once.

Edit: You know, dungeon diving is really 90% of what Skyrim (and all of the Elder Scrolls) is all about. If it's "agony" to you, this is perhaps not the type of game for you. :)

There's also another minor quest that can be accomplished during that trip, but I'm pretty sure it has to be initiated prior to heading down there.

Not without mods. The Live Another Life alternate-start mod, for example, has one option that starts your character in Blackreach.

There are other ways into Blackreach, if you have the "key," but I doubt that they will make that quest any easier, because there's still a long, involved Dwemer dungeon dive.

So true. Skyrim's clever mixture of sandbox, dungeon delving and roleplaying is one of the greatest aspects of the game. Definitely one of the reasons of its huge success and replayability.

In my game, both the old one and the SE, the elevators′ door always close after a while. So basically, anytime I want to go to blackreach, I have to go through some of the ruins again.

Interesting. The entrance by where Heljarchen Hall can be built always seemed to be accessible. Or maybe I just ran down there regularly.
