Dawnguard New Items - Including Cut Vampire Artifacts!

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 12:07 pm

It's not as overpowered as some would think. On Master difficulty, facing multiple groups of enemies, I actually do much better with the Werewolf. I think Werewolves should have gotten a favorite menu to switch between the three howls at will, but besides that, I believe they are good where they both are. (Keep in mind Serana following you also bugs VL's Drain Life spell.)

Well, it isn't over powered in the damage respect for sure, but it is in a way overpowered they way I mentioned it. But, the werewolf really should have a favorites menu.

Let's not get TOO far off topic.

I actually love it this way. I love having the CHOICE to become overpowered when I want to without having my entire character be overpowered. I have issues with Dawnguard, but this isn't one of them.

I just get items normally on my PC, but for the heck off it, I made my smithing skill 50000... That dagger will kill anything...

But, yeah, I love Vampire Lord. It isn't extremely powerful, but just good enough to be fun!

Oh, and in the coding I found this:

DLC1SeranaHood 0200e6a0

YES!!!!!!!!!! I will try to get all these things to work tomorrow, so just wait about 14-19 hours! (It may not even work at all).

And this:

DLC1SkinVampireFalmerFeralWings

What could that be...? The script also shows 4 new shouts. The other one is "DLC1UndeadSummon[1, 2, 3]". Dragon specific? I am really just looking in the code, though I have no idea what some of it means.

And with these spell console IDs, I will add vampiric grip to my character on PC! That will be fun to use as a human (Dunmer).

Just allow me to say that the crown does have what looks similar to fins on the side.

Are we positive it isn't underwater?

This is highly unlikely, but wasn't the Snow Prince killed at Saarthal? Could the crown be there? Although, now I AM getting desperate.

Actually I'm pretty sure all that stuff is fine, and it has nothing to do with "pirating".

It seems Vampire Lords originally didn't use the favorites system; which off-hand spell and Night Power you had depended on your equipment before transforming.
I'm actually glad things worked out the way they did. Imagine a VL with just two spells and one power at a time!

Eh. It happened, I'm not the one who did it, and I'm just stating a fact. Regarding your first point, though, there's nothing wrong with modding an Xbox save to add cut armors and such. It might matter if you tinker with achievements, but I admittedly don't know.

Nice find. The book on the Khajiit Trader can be found in Dead Falls Cave inside of the DG stronghold.

I never played Bloodmoon, but I really want to. I have played morrowind, and Tribunal, though, so I do ally want to play it. I guess that is why I make several mistakes in that lore.

Does anyone want to start a semi-unofficial search party for the ancient falmer helmet? I'm of the firm belief that it it's somewhere in the game and we have simply to find its hiding spot. kind of reminds me of the Easter egg hunts I had in Reach.

So, I had an idea. I went on my PC. Saved in the Testing Hall, and transferred the save to my Xbox. Obviously, I couldn't leave the testing hall with my new items, but I was able to find some cool new things. Plus, evidence that the Vampire Hood exists, and several Vampire Amulets and Rings they were never included.

http://s570.photobucket.com/albums/ss147/Kuromametchi529/Dawnguard/

All the pics I took are there. Some things may be known already, but I took pics anyway. I will update this page with some details on some of them, but please comment as you please. Be sure to check out the cut Vampire Artifacts.

* Ancient Falmer Crown - If nowhere else, it is in the Testing Hall!
* Vampire Amulets
-----* Amulet of Mist Form
-----* Amulet of Supernatural Reflexes
-----* Amulet of The Emplath - Night Power will be Empath (???)
-----* Amulet of Bats - Different from the one you get in-game. It makes your Night Power "Bats". Again, no use. It is the base Power.
* Vampire Rings
-----* Ring of Corpse Curse - Night Power will be Rigor Mortis (I guess this is the actual name of the spell cast with Corpse Curse)
-----* Ring of Reanimate Copse - What is the use? Isn't that the starting spell?
-----* Ring of Vampiric Grip
* Vampire Hood! It is just a recolored Cowl. Just like the Vampire Robes, but it does exist.
* Vampire Lord Armor - Looks like an unenchanted Vampire Lord Armor, but it can be worn with any other armor on top of it and does't show up on your character. I think it is Lord Harkon's Vampire Armor (His Vampire Lord form armor), but II
can't test it.
* Test Bolt (Not pictured) - Just a Steel bolt used for testing.
* Staff of Ruunvald - It may be in Ruunvald, but seeing as I joined only the Volkihar Clan, I am not sure.
* Moth Priest Sandals - YES!
* Moth Priest Robes - YES! - They looked Stretched in the pic, but I had to tilt them up to see the name.
* The Sultry Argonian Bard, V1 - I haven't found it in-game yet, but it may be. Haven't read it, yet, but I will.
* Dwarven Haul - Looks like some bandits found some loot. Haven't found it yet in-game.
* Dawnguard Orders - Saliah - I didn't join the Dawnguard, so they might exist.
* Dawnguard Orders - Lynoit
* Dawnguard Orders - Hakar
* Dawnguard Cache Key
* Confessions of a Kajiit Fur Trader - I haven't found it yet - or read it.
* Ancestor Moth Wing - I haven't found it, but has anyone else? It it in the Glade?

I also took pics of the testing hall rooms and maps. For anyone who has PC, you may know what I am talking about. Originally there was only one hall with Arcane Enchanters, Alchemy Labs, and Blacksmith equipment. Go down further and you find all the chests and an odd table. Just after the table where there was a solid wall is now an opening. Go in and to your right is a wooden door. Open it to find an enormous room with only 2 chests in the middle. Those are the Dawnguard Chests. Interstingly, everything in the game is not there. I did not see the Shellbug Helmet or the new Falmer Staffs, and several other things.

why cant you get out of testing hall on pc coc qasmoke to get there coc whiterun or whatever to leave

Well, what I did was on PC, I made a new save inside the testing hall, then I transferred that save to Xbox, so I was actually in the testing hall of Xbox - therefore I couldn't leave. I did that so that I could see all the Dawnguard items to see some of the cut items like this.

Anyway, I was able to run Dawnguard on my PC today and transfer my Xbox save, so I was able to test the new amulets and rings (And the cloth vampire lord armor that doesn't show up) and I can't report anything good.... The Vampire Lord Armor is apparently just another enchantment(s) slot, and the Vampire Artifacts just don't work. Plus, Serana's hood is one of those like the greybeard's robes (I figured) and cannot be seen in your inventory. Same goes for the Moth Priest's Blindfold - you can equip Tito your character using console, but you cannot see them in your inventory. Such a shame... But, now I have a dwarven crossbow (enhanced) as a vampire, and all three aetherial items! Plus, the vampire hood.

There is a mod, I can't remember who made it - might be Gibbed, that allows unplayable items brought up with console commands to be marked as favorite and saved there even when the save is converted to xbox. I have the mod on my PC game and have the black mage hood, the Greybeards stuff, the Summerset Shadows armor (I think that one is unplayable) Nocturnal's clothes etc all working on an Xbox save. So I think that would probably work for the new stuff that doesn't show up as well.

Isn't Sarena's hood the Guildmaster's hood or very close to it?
What is the cloth vampire lord armor? Is it wearable?

The they just suddenly decided to make it extremely overpowered by allowing you to change powers while in the form and change back at will, unlike the werewolf which you choose before you transform and can only transform twice a day (with Ring of Hircine) and have to worry about transforming back (assuming that you can't find enemies).
Mild correction from a die hard werewolf player.. The Ring of Hircine provides unlimited werewolf transformations. Simply put the ring on, go to your powers menue and activate the "Ring of Hircine" power. Works as often as you care to put it on.

It seems like originally you would wear a ring to decide your Blood Magic and an amulet to decide your Night Power for Vampire Lord rather than having access to all of them via the favourites menu.

They obviously saw the limitations it gave and yet did nothing to enhance the Werewolf in the same way.

Hehehee.... with our new perks playing a werewolf becomes like playing a great white shark. You can just eat your way across skyrim and never turn back unless you WANT to. Took me an ingame week of waiting after my last hunting spree to regain my human body again !

Getting Dawnguard items on the PC is. Since it's not out yet, how do you think he was able to find the ID for the item and use console commands?
