Where is the best place to preorder that is most likely to deliver the game the day before the release date?

Nowhere? Thats kind of not supposed to happen at all. If it does it is an accident and the company who did it could be sued by Bethesda.

If you live in England then I would say GAME is the safest bet.

Well, basically it doesn't matter even if the game was delivered day early, as it is a steam game it has to be activated from steam before you can play it.

I really don't know why i continue to play console games. I know there are more benefits for pc ( price of games, screen resolution, can play anywhere) but I refuse to use keys and I need a controller, preferably one set up just like the xbox controller but for computer, then I'd switch.

I'd look for people selling games out of the back of a truck.

@ShootToWound - Fallout 3 worked with the Xbox 360 controller, and the controls were exactly the same as on the 360. I use two wireless 360 controllers on my HTPC in my living room and it works great!

This is illegal. If it happened, said store would be fined $600 and sued by Bethesda.

Consoles are not run by steam.

Its understandable.

Im pretty sure people have played games on a pc with an Xbox controller.

I like playing on console just because... well I dunno really but I prefer it. PC do get mods which give so many more things to do in a game like Fallout.

And yes, you can use Xbox Controllers for a PC because there both made by Microsoft.

Fallout3 supports the xbox360 controller, as most PC games do these days. PC players have actually had the choice to use a controller since before the xbox360 existed. Funny how most of us still prefer mouse and keyboard...

Wish I would have known this before I bought the new xbox, oh well. Eventually I will go to the "darkside" (pc gaming) but only after I wear out my xbox. Maybe i'll get one of those alienware computers they look fancy, ooohh bug eyes. How long does the average " gaming computer" take to become "obsolete" in todays gaming industry?

Been using them all my life, to me controller isn't a option. In my opinion mouse is much smoother in aiming when playing FPS games and with the keyboard you have enough buttons for binds. Too bad that I still try to reach inventory with I key, when i'm playing FO3.

Steam. A car crash is not going to prevent Steam from delivering your stuff early.

It depends. Just make sure that you don't get an Alienware, they're way overpriced.

I have an almost off the shelf PC. It's not even made for gaming, but it'll run Oblivion and Fallout 3 fine. Or it did. It stutters sometimes since I got texture replacers.

Anyway, it would be nice to get the game early, but I really doubt it will happen.

The game requires steam to play? That's kind of dumb, that you HAVE to install 3rd party software to play FNV. It doesn't effect me because I use steam, but it will effect thousands of others I'm sure.

Depends, really. It's entirely possible that a store has a set day of the week for displaying new stock (all new stock), like the store I work at does, and there could be a manager on duty who doesn't realise when the release date is meant to be. As most game stores have signs everywhere saying "X game is due out on Y day", your best bet is a store like Kmart or some big department store like that.

I mean, hey, accidents happen.

Its all about what you grew up playing really, Muscle emory or the like.

I much prefer a controller.

I wouldn't mind aiming with the mouse and using the buttons on the controller.

Its the keyboard I have problems with. Everything you have to remember from memory and experience. The keys are all shaped the same and sometimes you don't have the luxiry to look down on some fast paced games.
