Day-N-night

Day and night cycle will have an impact on the game?

in night time:
different monsters comes out (vampires maybe)
more likely to encounter bandits on the roads.
Towns and cities, streets are empty at night only few guards with torchs walking the streets and some thieves.
shops are closed (so you cant go to shop owner and wake him up so he can trade with you like in oblivion)
some animals such as wolfs are asleep so you can sneak on them.

you know things like that.

I seriously hope that day and night will be completely different...besides the obvious light 'n dark! ;)

I hate it when the time of day or night governs on how hard the game is. That's one of the reasons Terraria and Minecraft are very annoying sometimes. By the way, shops do close at night time like previous games, and people go to sleep. Fallout 3 and Oblivion had this.

Don't know about all the night-time mechanics, but those that have played the game have had nothing but the highest praise for night time.

For nights to be really good they usually have to be a little shorter and a little
darker than they appear in vanilla. At least if judging from other Bethesda games
in the past. Other than that I hope there will be a significant difference in what
type of mobs and their behavior, and where you encounter them.

You mention vampires coming out at night, I hope this time the sun actually hurts them. I remember in Oblivion having to take on a bunch of vamps in a cave so I thought I'd be clever and wait until daytime then lure them outside and watch them cook. I did that but the sun didn't bother them at all.

The only thing we know is the aurora borealis sometimes appears (or always?) dunno.

Also there are fireflies and luna moths or something like that which only appear at night.

I've been waiting or an old battlefield to turn into a war of ghosts at night for a while now. And some enemies that only come out at night could add a sense of fear to the darkness. I also hope night is kinda dark this time and lowers the draw distance, instead of strange gray things standing out in the distance - forcing you to lower the brightness thus rendering the game world one giant black hole of nothingness infront of your face.

I also hope dragons attack at night, for they shall be that much more epic then.

Assuming their heightened awareness doesn't kick in

Good ideas you should really consider making a poll in this one or another one. Id like to see those concepts in the game indefinitely.

Why wouldn't dragons attack at night?

What I need for keeps,
This silly game we play (play).

I hope there's more scary/cool stuff going on at night...

BUT IF THE SPIDERS ROAM OUT OF THE CAVES AT NIGHT I WILL CRY

Why wouldn't dragons attack at night?

Hawks don't hunt at night because they can't see from above. All of the screens of dragons have shown them to largely be binaural (meaning active during the daytime). However, I could seriously imagine the Jills not needing sleep. The regular dragons, however? Probably need their sleep.

I ask myself something simmilar every time I play any game that has a day night cycle. It's either copy past monsters with no different kinds coming out of the woodwork depending on the day, or the other side of the spectrum when the cool monsters come out in the day and the creepy ones come out at night and there's no crossover what so ever.
