Dead or Alive? Mucianus Allias

Post » Sun May 01, 2011 10:44 pm

He was the informant from the Mage's Guild sent to spy on the Necromancers in the Liberation or Apprehension quest at Nenyond Twyl. Did you leave him alive? Why or why not?

My first post, hi all.

ADDED: oops, sorry Mod. I put it in the wrong forum, now I know. :)

I figure it is more humane to kill him, rather than leave him stuck as a Mannimarco minion.

In my last game, not only did I leave Mucianus alive, I used command spells to bring him back to the Arcane University. (Hey, Arch-Mage Traven did ask me to bring him back...) Unfortunately, it was a waste of time since he wouldn't go through the door to the University itself, but it was fun watching him hobble & moan through the Imperial City streets.

Haven't gotten that far yet. And before this character I've had 2 that got that far but that was like 4 years ago.

Usually I put him out of his misery... if that's even possible. It Really is the only humane thing to do.

Keep in mind, he's really dead already. That is he was apparently killed and Mannimarco just reanimated his corpse. So all your doing is un-reanimating an undead corpse.

Even so, from a roleplaying perspective it's still a nice gesture, and gives him back at least a little bit of his dignity. :)

I always had the impression that Mannimarco "zombified" him while he was still alive. Either way, I usually put him out of his misery. Its the least you can do for him.

I'd keep it as a permanent pet. Since he goes to the afterlif....Dream Sleeve(right?). Hes not using his body, i might as well get some use out of it, maybe bring it by Halaluu's alchemical store to see if I get some wierd looks. lol

Yeah, I also think punching the rest of his body into a bloody pile of bones will surely restore his dignity XD

Well, something attacks me, I kill it, 'nuff said. Tough bastard, though. Luckily I don't play the squishy wizard, preferring the armored warmage type since you tend to live longer wearing your good old three-piece metal suit.

He's not hostile towards you. So, no need to kill him.

He's not hostile? Honestly, the first time I went through there, I didn't realize it was him until I'd already burned him to death.

I always kill him, just because my characters all despise the undead.

I'm on my third play-through of Oblivion while i'm waiting for FalloutNV to come out, and just had this quest again. The first time I played Oblivion, I left him alone but as I was headed back to Traven, it began to bother me because if that had been done to me, I would hope someone would put an end to my situation...so I went back and left him deader than dead...and hoped that he wasn't reanimated again. He doesn't attack you until you force him but it doesn't count as an assault or murder.

First game: Lacille, game got the animation bug on PS3, couldn't finish. :(
Second game: Kicenna, had learned a lot, great game.
Third game: in progress, level 16
Fourth game: somewhere down the road.... :)

I didn't realise he wasn't hostile until I read this thread, and I didn't realise who he was until I'd killed him...

The only time I killed... er, rekilled... er, deanimated... er... whatever... was when I had a mage and killed him before even knowing who he was... just saw a zombie and attacked...

I leave him alive, but also leave the cell open so he can go and drown himself if he wants to do so.

I've killed him to end his misery.

But here's a thought: Is he even aware of anything? Is he still functioning? If anything, he's brain-dead and shuffling around aimlessly. He probably doesn't even remember what had happened to him.

I would do either choice but if it was up to me I'd put him out of his misery. A couple fireball spells should do the trick.
