Dead Dragon Body?

Post » Wed Aug 13, 2014 12:35 pm

I am on 360. I have had a dead dragon's body appearing in random places. It first showed up in Riverwood, then a bandit camp, then a mill, it's shown up twice in Windhelm. I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else.

It's a somewhat common bug. Should disappear in a while.

Dragons have some scripts attachted to them. Each time you visit an area where you previously killed a dragon and the area has not yet reset the dragon is scripted to appear again. Hence, it falls out of the sky somewhere in the area where it died.

That happened to me before. Its nothing major, and it shouldn't cause your game to freeze up. It mainly depends where it will go and what coded address.

All video games are based off of Hexidecimals. The more memory in a game requires more hex coding. The more hex coding leads to more glitches that will occur.

You probably killed that dragon before , and what happens is most games on console have a hexidecimal code address. The address's in the code move and relocate. The coding in the game moves around everytime you save the game which causes the codes to move where they shouldn't causing your game to freeze. Everything you do in the code moves around and the code of numbers in your game will increase causing your file to bloat. Since there is so much code in Skyrim, glitches are hard to fix and re occur.

Yeah, I've had dead dragons pop up on me a couple of times. I even came out of a Dwermer dungeon one time through those elevator things only to have Durneviir fall out of the sky dead, right in front of me. I didn't even summon him

I too have many dead dragons. It seems that it is very common. Many dragon bodies that spawn in game are also incorectly named, lick a "dragon" being called an "elder dragon" when it clearly is not.

This happened to me before. It all started when I was playing "Tag the dead lizard" with the raise zombie spell...

Edit- The bug went away after awhile.

This issue is an engine bug and there isn't any way to solve it (unless you play on PC and use console commands). Sometimes they eventually disappear (as other have said), but that isn't always the case.
