Dead Forums?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:29 pm

Even though these forums are slow, I find them a worthwhile read. I just started playing Fallout 3 in January without knowing much at all about it before that. So I am certainly interested in the repeat topics on here. I like to hear about people's favorite weapons, homes and who they think are the most annoying characters. I actually prefer slower forums as long as they aren't dead and the Fallout 3 forums are not dead. I don't read much in the Skyrim forum. That place is just too much for me right now.

The forums have dropped in activity, I think alot because of New Vegas, Skyrim and other games, but there are many still here!

I'm still working on a Fallout3 mod, and will be for at least another year. When it's done, as long as there is 1 person willing to download and play it, I'll be a happy man. :)

I suspect these forums will pickup quite a bit when BGS starts work on Fallout 4.

What kind of mod is it?

The Forums have always fluctuated up and down. When a new Fallout hits store shelves the activity here will rise once more. Mainly just because they will recall their good times in Fallout 3.

Yeah, mine should be coming in tomorrow. Got it for PC, even though I already own it and all the add-ons on X360.

But hey, I've got a system that can run modern games now. And I use to play mostly PC a few years back.....keeping hardware up to date is a pain.

Oh, you are gonna love it! I made the same leap from the 360 with all the DLC over to the PC.

I remember you resisted pretty hard to leaping on over. Damn that was a long time ago.

Let me guess you like the modding on the PC. :)

(I think it depends on what people are doing, the topics that are present, and who really wants to reply, IMHO)

Both playing them and making them, yes. And, welcome to the forum!

@ Cory

Well, I wanted to play on the 360 until I couldn't think of anything else to do on it. It took me a long time. Then I went to the PC. That was a long time ago. We've been here a long time. :)

How can the forum be dead if there are 34 replies to this post? - Zen.

Maybe it has to do with the trophy/achievement "to-do list" of both. ???

FO:NV requires atleast 4 playthroughs to nab all trophies with no DLC. Most are allegiance-oriented. (faction-exlusive quests considered.)
FO3 requires atleast 3 playthroughs to nab all trophies without DLC. Most are karma-oriented.

I'm thinking that trophy/achievement hunters might corretate with the amount of traffic on most game forums, not just this one.

So wait, if Fallout 3 fans are old, then what does that make Fallout 1 and 2 fans? Oh, that's right. Dinosaurs!

In general, around here, we would be considered the old timers. A lot of my old forum friends are gone. There is really only a handful here and there.
