I think the dead bodies should rise up and become Zombies if the PC doesn't provide a proper burial.

I'm pretty sure in TES someone, like a necromancer, needs to raise them. they don't do it all by themselves.

And providing burials for all the poor fools I'm gonna kill would be way way too tedious, especially when i kill people in a building/dungeon/ruins... I would need to drag them outside... no thank you.

I don't think the bodies should rot to skeletons, especially if its near a town. I mean, the townspeople wouldn't just leave a body rotting near them would they?

I think they should implement something where either you can dispose of the bodies, or if you choose not to and NPC that bumps into them will either attempt to move the body by themselves, or call help :)

I completely agree that NPCs should react realistically to dead NPCs (a hardened warrior shouldn't flinch at a dead body, but a child should be scared). and any civilized society would not let bodies decompose in the middle of the streets. Even men before homo-erectus (very early man, one of the many "missing links") buried their dead.

Viking Funerals for the dead (at least the nobles/well-respected).... now thatd be cool.

I made this thread with no external variables in mind however, just "if a person is dead, from a stab or other bloody wound, then this should happen"

Meh, I don't really care about blood and gore. The thing about Daggerfall's dead bodies (and Fallout 3's, too) was that you would pound into them for awhile, and they would show no damage, until their last hit when they'd transform into a pile of gore. This doesn't really make sense. In a perfect world, we'd be seeing the enemy get damaged as their health go down. I don't think that's going to happen any time soon though, so as of now I'm happy with morrowind/oblivion style, just because I don't see the need for fallout 3 levels of gore in a TES game.

Well it's pretty sure that when someone dies in the city, his body should disappear cuz someone obviously would clean them but when you kill someone in the forest it would be nice to see his rotten body couple of weeks later.

I like to search for dead bodies in the forest myself ! (I have this tendency to forgot where I left them)

Wow, that's insane! I've never seen in-game blood like that, and it would be incredible! I doubt Bethesda will think about it at this point though.

Wow, that would be a reason to specifically avoid a game. Looks terrible, and I can't imagine wanting something like that.

Looks pretty awesome. I'm not that all into extreme gore and such, but blood is fine I think. This looks great.

That is disturbing.

I would like blood to the point of GTA 4 (couldn't find a good link). However I'm more interested in the "what happens to bodies?" question. I personally think that if they are in a town or at all discoverable they should be visibly carried away by guards or civilians. If they aren't discoverable I would like them to disappear over a certain time period like in previous games as I find it realistic enough that they would have been moved by other animals or environmental effects. I also think that we should be able to remove and dispose of corpses as they do in assassins creed.

More of a star wars guy myself.

:starwars:

*cough...anyway...I want gorier dead bodies, with dinamic blood flowing if possible, they could rot but I'm not sure how much time this would take from devs so I'm more than happy with them disappearing after 72 hours (unless they have a quest item). And yes I want gore but an option for those who don't want it.

I don't care what they look like, I'm more interested in gameplay effects. Other NPCs ought to notice dead bodies and become afraid or suspicious (rather than getting into bed next to them a la Oblivion), and necromancers ought to be able to reanimate them.
IIf there are buckets of blood then there should be a low-gore option.

So what explains all the undead(dammit, Google Chrome, "Undead" is a freaking word) in areas without a necromancer.

Edit: Good God, You thought I was serious with that whole Zombie burial thing?

Undertakers in every city, the dead in the forests should just rot, unless they have someone looking for them.

i wouldnt specifically avoid a game just because of it i think its a cool feature which is just trying to make the fighting in that game gory yet realistic at the same time, obviously that over the top style wouldnt really fit with tes since overgrown is a brawler it fits. If they are going to include blood and gore they might aswell make it realistic

I voted for MW/OB style bodies where it remains intact, but I also voted for the dynamic blood. Daggerfall was a bit over the top in that you'd think the person got their arms ripped off and then in half. A dead body with some blood is fine by me.

Wow, that's great. almost exactly what i was imagining. those squirting blood vessels seemed a little over the top though.

Edit: Good God, You thought I was serious with that whole Zombie burial thing?

How can you blame me.... There's so many people with "out there" ideas on this forum, I take most things for face value, and i don't just assume they were being sarcastic, especially with no emoticon or anything to assist the sarcasm. I just don't see why you would post such a bad idea... for fun?

If there is a murder within a town or city perhaps they could be taken away by guards at put in the morgue and then disappear after a day. If you have played hitman blood money that would kind of illustrate my thinking.

However this would be difficult to animate well so I doubt anything will happen, just hope people react to bodies rather than giving it a passing glance.

 I don't think that over the top blood fits TES (btw I do want realistic gore and dismemberment but keep the over the top to FO) however I like the way it looks. So a less bloody version would be awesome IMO.

That's not really over the top. It's pretty realistic really since the heart pumps enough pressure to shoot blood up to thirty feet. I think this would be pretty awesome to see in Skyrim since it's all blade-blunt-arrow fighting. But I agree keep the over the top (bloody mess..ugh) to FO..
