Dead Money is SO AWFUL. Total Chore Factory with NO FUN.

I thought it was pretty well done, and it had an awesome set of characters and story to go along with it. I thougth the BAR was pretty goosd in the hands of a companion too.

The only part of the DLC that was tedious on the point of annoyance for me was the vault. Some of the speakers there were damned hard to find.

Other than that I had a blast.

Scrounging for ammo for my slim choice of weapons, being estatic when I happened upon a laser pistol with ammo on the ground, picking my way carefully around corners and having epic melee fights with ghost people. Good times.

The atmosphere was also just awesome. I only wished there had been a way to explore around the area that was directly outside of the Sierre Madre (the hill) instead of just being transported to the inside.

Yeah the Vault svcked with the speakers, I still don't know how to disarm them by it's design, I think I found a loophole which I use.

Look OP, you didn't like the DLC, people can accept that. It's just the blatantly childish post that you made trying to convince others not to buy it because you thought your opinion was fact.

The OP is done venting I think, so this thread isn't really necessary to respond to until he himself responds back.
He's gotten suggestions, he's gotten criticism, he's been allowed to vent.
Thread is now pointless.

So let's talk about cows.
I hate the smug bastards.
Standing there...
Munching grass..
Looking at me with their soulless eyes thinking they're better than me...
At which point I go get a burger and eat it in front of them, laughing manically that I'm eating it's relative.
Take that you [censored] cows!
I hate you cows. :stare:

Cows are scary as hell, I was taking a bloody walk and I saw a full field of cows staring at me. They were hiding in the darkness, the moon shining down upon them.

Mooooo...

I'd probably never finish the DLC.
Cows scare the living [censored] outta me. I'm fine taunting them from a distance and with a fence between us, but without that fence I'd probably run away screaming like a girl who's brother just tossed a spider in her hair.

I just completed it today - took me the better part of 4 days (around 10 hours total or so). It ended well, but had a very sad feel to the whole thing. The characters are so memorable, and Frederick Sinclair was a real romantic at heart, which made me really feel for him. You could just visualise how things were prior to the bombs coming, and immediately after, and it plays out like a very tragic drama, one without a good ending. I ended up killing Domino, not because I wanted to, but because I didn't prostrate myself before him when we first met. Looking at the wiki, I don't see how on earth we could possibly have known that in order to keep him alive we needed to make sure we never picked any riposte answers to his offensive attitude, but perhaps that's the way the game was designed - the average man would end up killing him. I certainly felt very very good about killing him as more and more details of the casino's history were revealed. A complete scum, but memorable. Christine and Dog had less of an impact on me, but they were nevertheless likeable, and they both got their good endings, although it's sad that Christine chose to stay and not leave with me to start anew. Christine's muteness also kind of worked, and gives some ideas about creating companion mods without the need to find voice actors! And poor Vera.. those holograms of her walking around in the Suites really chilled me - it was like ghosts in a haunted house, replaying the last moments of her life. It was just so so sad....

So what did I get out of it? A couple of souvenir gold bars (all I could carry - you're not meant to take the whole pile, are you?) which will never be sold and will adorn my room in Novac, some nifty new weapons which I probably won't use well with my current skillset (Gauss rifle, holorifle, 3 variants of cosmic knives, 2 variants of knife spears, over a hundred throwing knife spears - my melee and energy weapons skills haven't really been levelled up much), some nice armour and helmets, a couple of police pistols (how I hate .357 pistols but they were great for taking out speakers), a beautiful dress (just one. I couldn't find it in my heart to rip the other one off Vera's skeleton), a neat tuxedo ripped off the still-warm corpse of a scumbag, loads of new recipes, a truckload of casino chips (broke their bank) and lots of memories - some good, some bad, mostly sad. I still think it was tedious (especially the speakers - the clouds are designed so that you can usually find an alternative path around them, and I never had any problems with any holograms - you just need to avoid walking right in front of them, and you can use terminals to make them walk away, but those speakers can really ruin your day if you can't see them hidden in nasty places - I think everytime I died and reloaded was due to a speaker), but it was a really good ride. I just wish the casino interior part of the game was longer, and the part outside shorter.

I'm standing at the gates to the Mojave now, looking back at the casino against the red sky. Would almost be anticlimatic to head back, but I guess I have to. Did I miss anything?

The Cow Level is incredibly fun with a Rabies Werewolf.

Bite one of the cows, screw around, and they all die within a few minutes

I think the OP meant to write Old World Blues instead of Dead Money.

Dead Money is the best Vegas DLC.

I'm actually fond of Old World Blues as well as Dead Money.

The only one I dislike is Honest Hearts.

I was underwhelmed by Honest Hearts but I wasn't actively annoyed with it like Old World Blues.

Running through the same obstacle course multiple times while fighting the same bullet sponge enemies who also respawn constantly in the Sink itself is not a recipe for fun.

I agree. I liked the concept of Old World Blues and the setting was certainly interesting, the implementation of the gameplay could have been better though.

I agree completely. I did like OWB overall, but the X-8 quests were absolutely horrible. They weren't enough to ruin the whole DLC for me, but they were certainly enough to put it below the others.
