They've just hiked the price of Dead Money to US$12.99 - just for Australia. No reason for it, they just decided to.
I bought it minutes after it came out for $9.99 but those wanting it now have to pay 30% more for no reason at all. Price gouging on games in Australia is often blamed on having to protect bricks'n'mortar retailers, but those retailers don't sell DLC.
Namco Bandai Partners also hiked the price of Fallout New Vegas and Brink (both of which I bought prior to their scam) - both were US$49.99, both are now US$89.99 (no, that's not a typo, they're literally charging NINETY BUCKS for a PC game!) It's nothing to do with exchange rate - the Australian dollar is worth more than the US dollar and has been for some time now - and all to do with ripping off gamers.
Time for a new Australian distributor, I think, Bethesda.
