Dead Money = Waste Of Money

No see you have the wrong game.

What you want is Bulletstorm or Gears of War. They are full of interesting monsters you can twitch shoot and vast generic battlefields that you can prance away on to your heart's content.

I have been playing Fallout since the late ninenties and Dead Money couldn't be more true to it's spirit. The writing, story and concept are BRILLIANT but you probably never finished grade school and letters give you headaches.

Again, New Vegas is a hardcoe PC RPG game with the emphasis on WRITING, SOUL and IMMERSION.

If you wanted a shooter, go get something by Epic. I hear they're pretty good at what they do.

Finally, Bioware, with the shining exception of the Mass Effect universe are vanilla softies compared to the darkness and grit of Obsidian and CDProjekt RED.

Cheers.

Tenner bets you didn't read a single conversation throughout the whole DLC. I loved it. Very intriguing and challenging. I do hope the following DLC's are more open, but of the same quality.

And another person not only completely bashes Obsidian's story-heavy presentation style, but is also blaming it on Bethesda. And assuming that, since he doesn't like it, no one will, since he can't understand that people like different things

Considering you joined the boards here today I am very skeptical you even have played the DLC, you sound more like one of the folks who had a bug issue on release and are just bitter about the whole thing. Sorry you feel the way you do, but Dead Money maybe one of or the best Fallout DLC's to date.

I notice a distinct lack of exploding dog collars in New Vegas vanilla. Beyond the one the Brotherhood slaps on you, that is... And that doesn't stay on for long.

Come to think of it, I notice a distinct lack of dangerous environmental hazards in NV vanilla.

What is the justification of not including this in the original game? They want more money.

Or it wasn't done when they had to ship. Would you have rather had half-completed DM content in the game, or would you have rather they fixed the "your computer starts crying tears of black pitch and trying to devour your pets" bug?

This DLC is only a few hours, only 2 new monsters (pitiful) with a stupid drawn out story that nobody cares about.

It took me more than six hours to complete, and the story was fascinating.

Of course, I'm one of those people who actually pays attention to stories.

Yeah, so many "Fallout fans" who don't care about story, then complain the game is too hard and easy at the same time :whistling:

Thank you so much for saying this.Dead Money DLC is an awesome add-on.Take it slow, find EVERYTHING(yes, there is ALOT of secret stuff to find).Always look around on the floor for ammo, disarming traps, and the sierra madre story is out-of-this-world...yes, that's right..FALLOUT WORLD =]

If anyone is complaining about this DLC they are just upset they can't figure it out and take the time to find everything. This is not an FPC meets RPG.it's [censored] Fallout for christ-sake.

It's amazing on PS3 with the graphics

I can't wait to see what else there is for upcoming add-ons =P

Yeah CDProjekt RED are great.
Witcher is the best RPG i've played for a long time.
Kotor is my favourite game of all times, but Bioware ended for me after the first mass effect.
I guess i will try The Old Republic MMO anyway

Where to begin...

Waste of money? Nope.

Small area filled only with bear traps? False on both counts. All together, the DLC is decent size and there are all kinds of tripwires in addition to bear traps.

Beat a 10 year old code to death... well... huh. I dunno what to say to that.

Differences between DLC and core game? Well. Exploding collar. Deadly gas. Vending machines. Holograms. A whole new survival experience.

A few hours? What? It takes me about 9 hours to clean out the DLC.

You'll never buy another Bethesda game again, eh? For some reason I doubt claims like that. With good reason, too.

You're guaranteeing that we'll see horrible reviews? That statement makes me think of - was it Tommy Boy? - "I can crap in a box and slap a guarantee on it but all you're getting is a guaranteed piece of crap."

Oh immature immature me, I lol'd

on topic: Dead Money is awesome, and unlike most gameplay in New Vegas, Dead Money is actually challenging for 8 hours or more. Constantly looking for chips, just to get a doctor's bag.. just so you'll be able to run through the cloud! What's not to love?

Finished it a little bit ago, was meh. The story and dialogue were amusing, but the world was just so bland and repetitive until you get into the casino. Running around copy/paste buildings and looking for the same hole in the wall got old fast.

The pacing was alright, not too much combat, not nearly as puzzle heavy as people described, but only two new enemies(do holograms even count?) was a huge letdown, as was the new weapon and armor selection.

As a side note, I really hope the rest of the DLC won't be the same 'lose all your items and do quests for some nobody like you're level 1 again', enough of that already.
