Deadliest Monster

The GIANT slaughter fish. Not because it's tough or strong, but because it scares me. I have this phobia against giant fish. :P

Actually i change my vote. I hate vampire no matter what kind or level. If you let them hit you and have no cure disease/resist then your going to get infected. Ever trying to kite 4 at once with a bow? Have fun :brokencomputer:

You have at least 3 days to cure the infection before becoming a vampire (more if you don't sleep). So that's not really a problem.

Buffy considers any monster she doesn't see to be the deadliest. Case in point, with a snip from her Journal, Chapter 59:

* * *
Before attacking the second troll, I poisoned an arrow and slipped it into my boot sheath. After casting my spell that briefly immobilized foes and weakened them to poison, I chased it with the arrow. Due to the spell, this troll died from only a single poisoned arrow.

Quietly moving toward the dead trolls I sensed a warning from Acadian.

Behind you again.

Before I could react, I felt something hit the back of my right hamstring and tear into my flesh. With a cry of pain, I staggered forward and turned around. The rat's next lunge was for my throat. Slayer came up defensively as magic flashed into the bow to protect it. I was barely fast enough to deflect the rat. Instinctively, flames leaped from my fingertips. Again and again. Several more spells continued to bounce the dead rat down the corridor before I realized I could stop. My heart pounding, leg screaming and hands shaking, I leaned against the tunnel's stone wall.

Aww, thanks!!! Who else could elegantly dispatch a pair of trolls, then get her butt kicked by . . . a rat? :blush2:

The player? :P

Not so sure, killed the clone in the grove of reflection with no problems, yes it's easy to kill a pure mage with a spell containing silence and weakness to magic, shock damage and weakness :) The AI is pretty clueless, it had strong reflect spell potions
Gatekeeper and even more the second gatekeeper was hard to kill but not very dangerous as it had to reach you to do damage. Mended flesh elementals has my vote, immune against poison and with spell reflection, unlike the lich they are fast and hit hard.

OT: I has never understood the problem with cliffracers, they was not very hard to kill but you needed some sort of ranged attack bows, spells or cast on use damage on target. If you used damage speed 100 on target it was no reason to kill them :)

Mudcrabs (Or their northern cousins, the snowcrabs. ^_^ )

I had a level 30 character getting killed by mudcrabs, it was in a mod with a very diabolic trap who immobilised the player and let two mudcrabs attack him.

Goblin Warchiefs are the most hardcoe I can think of. If they gang up on me they can deplete a lot of my high level characters' health.

Acadian, I just want to say that I think you (and Buffy, of course!) and your stories are awesome. I mean, your stories even inspired me to try and create a Bosmer archer! She ... well, she kinda died, but it was fun for the hour or two it lasted!

Thanks for the kind words about Buffy. :hugs: I tell her she pvssyrs too much, but she certainly has earned lots of friends here. We do get a fair number of comments and PMs that are supportive of her, and she has inspired several mystic archer players and more than a couple fanfic writers. In fact, she does sort of encourage a depth of imagination and passion that we hope enhances Oblivion for roleplayers. Based on that, I don't overly restrain her babbling and posting and screenshots, etc.

Folks are very nice here also. Even those for whom Buffy is not their cup of Tamika's are gentle enough to simply skip her posts and not poke fun at her.

The player could be argued as the most dangerous monster. I mean, think about it: We're nigh unstoppable, have all the items the game can give us. We could literally conquer all of Tamriel by our lonely self if given the chance. I mean, in Oblivion, we single-handedly did what entire legions of men could not. We did what the Kvatch guard could not.

We are powerful enough to kill any and all NPCs with a single magical spell, arrow strike, or sword/dagger/mace/axe blow. We can fast travel instantly from place to place while everyone else has to walk.

We can even "kill" Dagon for God's sake! Just strike him/blast him enough time and he'll "melt". The only reason we can't really kill him is because the game decrees we can't. Rest assured, though, that if the game wanted us to kill Dagon ourselves, we would.

Oh, if only Uriel knew what he was unleashing on poor, unhappy Tamriel.

And the only achilles heel the player might have is the Adoring Fan. :P

Seriously though, my vote is on the Gatekeeper.
Of the none boss variety, maybe liches or wraiths of deceased pirates.

I've always found necromancers a pain in the butt to kill, they're not hard to kill, just hard to catch. Always running away from melee.
Otherwise, Goblin Warlords and Ogres are annoying. I should go back to the SI, see how brutal their monsters are.

Since the Uderfryke Matron is always level 18, she (and her 500 hitpoints) can give lower level characters quite the run for their septims, especially if you left your fire weapons/spells at home. She's a lovely way for a low level character to get a grand soul however - if you've got the stones for it.

I don't like to think if myself or my avatar as a monster, but overall I think the things that lunge are fairly deadly or fairly annoying. Either they are diseased like rats or attack in groups like goblins (for some reason I can never fight those guys one on one) or have a good chance at staggering like mountain lions/clan fear.

Now seriously, depends on your defences. A fire atraonach would be way scarier for an altmer with fire vulnerability than for a dunmer with fire resistance. If you have a high armor and reflect damage, a hard hitting monster would be less dangerous. An invisible monster lost its edge if you had a detect life effect active. And so on.

This I agree with. It depends on what defenses the player has. As stated, what is :bolt: for an Altmer is  for a Dunmer
Mudcrabs (Or their northern cousins, the snowcrabs. ^_^ )

I saw one the other day. I steered clear of it.
