The player could be argued as the most dangerous monster. I mean, think about it: We're nigh unstoppable, have all the items the game can give us. We could literally conquer all of Tamriel by our lonely self if given the chance. I mean, in Oblivion, we single-handedly did what entire legions of men could not. We did what the Kvatch guard could not.

We are powerful enough to kill any and all NPCs with a single magical spell, arrow strike, or sword/dagger/mace/axe blow. We can fast travel instantly from place to place while everyone else has to walk.

We can even "kill" Dagon for God's sake! Just strike him/blast him enough time and he'll "melt". The only reason we can't really kill him is because the game decrees we can't. Rest assured, though, that if the game wanted us to kill Dagon ourselves, we would.

Oh, if only Uriel knew what he was unleashing on poor, unhappy Tamriel.

Now seriously, depends on your defences. A fire atraonach would be way scarier for an altmer with fire vulnerability than for a dunmer with fire resistance. If you have a high armor and reflect damage, a hard hitting monster would be less dangerous. An invisible monster lost its edge if you had a detect life effect active. And so on.

I saw one the other day. I steered clear of it.

I always found high level Aurorans to be a pain. They were very durable, resisted both shock and regular magic, they carried nasty weapons, and could cast Lightning Shield on themselves.

Then there are Goblin Warlords, who had obscene amounts of health, but their weapons were lackluster.

Then there are Grummite Deathdealers, who had a lot of health and usually carried poisons.

There are also liches, who had several spells plus sometimes had powerful magic staves. Plus they were still relatively durable.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I'm thinking Xivilai, Lich, Minotaur Lord, etc. I don't which one of those is the strongest, but my bet is on the Xivilai.

At lower levels, clannfear.

at higher levels, xivilai, because you have to fight them and the clannfear that they summon.

I hate those things. >_< Aswell as the the high leveled Grummites and the Hulking Scalons, but thankfully scalons dont throw magic. (as far as I can remember, it's been a while since I've even been in the isles.)

I'd say either Xivilai or Liches. The former absorb spells ,while the latter reflect them, so they are quite nasty indeed...

With every chracter I've had, I've always found ogres to be really difficult to kill, and at higher levels Goblins are annoying to kill too, especially when the game is being lag-tastic. As for undead, Skeleton Heroes always seem to be harder than Liches and Wraiths and stuff.

You could make an argument for the second gatekeeper.

My vote is for the Second gatekeeper. Maybe ogres or xivilai.

Those are all puppy dogs compared to Cliff Racers though.
Will-o-the-wisps and Spriggans are annoying simply because they damage your atrributes and stuff.

I thought that the Nether Lich was the strongest statistically.

Although, those I find hardest are the Grummite Deathdealers. They have so much health and are masters of block. It takes me a good 3-5 mintues to kill a few on 60% difficulty.

I think it's the Player Character if that character can be considered a "Monster"

Or the Avatar of Mehrunes Dagon, but of course that's unique.

Some people would say Will o the Wisps, but they are pretty easy for Atronach characters or if you're used to them (ranged attacks for example).

Personally I hate Goblin Shaman because they are difficult to kill (run away and heal) but they are probably not the deadliest monster.

I'd say maybe a Lich. But then I use MMM that add more powerful Liches (eg Lich King, Lich Lord, Deep Lich), so I'm not sure about vanilla. Liches don't move fast but they attack very hard, and have spell reflection which can be deadly for a mage.

Clanfears are also very deadly. Very fast, aggressive, powerful, and have reflect damage.

A mountain lion can be extremely deadly for a lower level character. You probably can't out run them, and they attack very hard.

But the nice thing about the game is that the monsters tend to have their strengths and weaknesses. So if you know how, you can deal with lots of deadly monsters, but often in different ways.

I vote for Liches too. MMM adds some really insanely strong Liches, that I have trouble killing with even my highest level character, who can take out just about anything with one arrow. And they usually just happen to spawn in swarms, so you'll have three Lich Kings, two Lich Lords and a few normal Nether Liches all attacking at once.

Vanilla Liches are pretty bad ass too, but high-leveled Grummites, Flesh Atronachs, Scalons and the second Gatekeeper probably take the cake over them.

Actually i change my vote. I hate vampire no matter what kind or level. If you let them hit you and have no cure disease/resist then your going to get infected. Ever trying to kite 4 at once with a bow? Have fun :brokencomputer:
