Deadliest Warrior Oblivion: New Beginning

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 1:04 am

Another thing I just noticed. Your character doesn't have Alchemy as a major skill so you can't get any potions or poisons. It's in the long version of the rules, but not i nthe summary. I'll correct that now.

Sorry, but over the budget is over the budget, even if it is by only 1 gold. I'd suggest going for the Bands of Kwang Lao (+20 fortify Hand to hand, costs 2005 gold) instead of the Gauntlets of the Pugilist.

Ok. I didn't realize you could choose stuff from the Unique Items page, but I must have missed it in the rules. In that case, I'll take the Akaviri Sunderblade.

@John123
You might want to add the name, race, gender, and apperance of your character. ;) You should also only pick one summoned creature (they all get the same stats, see balance changes).

:blush:
Fixed him up, musta forgotten to copy the rest of my form over from that text pad I was workin on.

Slightly edited Ra'Zirajh, so please use his revised edition in the tournament. Also, I just started playing basically him in real Oblivion, but without the Reflect Damage aspect. It's the first time I've used a Hand to Hand specialist, and it's FUN :D

Lightning strikes and the resurrected, undead Dark Elven hero Gordol Indoril walks slowly to the registration table, peering out from underneath his black hooded cloak, his armor and weapons concealed beneath. He glances sideways hatefully at the Human and Beastfolk who have signed up so far. What his mace really thirsts for, however, is Argonian blood. But he knows that Azura has given him this one last chance to vanquish hate from his own heart. He is not here to win glory or fame this time. He is here to attempt to see the good in those he's been raised to despise, and put his soul to rest...

Looks like Gurkog will have to work to keep his title!

EDIT: I think that no artifacts will keep the tourney more balanced! :)

An imperial would do well in this tournament with all of the lightning damage weapons being used!

I mostly chose my weapons and armor from a roleplaying perspective, based on what an Indoril warrior who didn't have access to Indoril armor or weapons would use. A lot of the wealthier and more powerful Dunmer crusaders in Morrowind wore Orcish, Dwemer or Ebony armor and rarely a few Daedric pieces. The latter two would have been far too rich for my money pool, but the former seem to work nicely from an RP perspective. The Ordinators are Indorils and they all used Ebony maces. The strongest champions of a Great House sometimes used enchanted weapons, and many monsters in Morrowind were immune or resistant to fire but not so much to shock. The kit I gave my guy seems to logically work and would be among the things a wealthier and more experienced Temple Crusader might own, so regardless of how well they serve him I feel satisfied he'd not appear out of place in Morrowind.

In short, I like this guy. He's got a back story and weapons/armor that suit him. I'll likely mention him in one of my fan fics sooner or later.

I liked your intro. I can just imagine some kind of undead sorcerer wearing a huge, engulfing black cloak walking up to a registration table behind which a terrified and bewildered bosmer is sitting wondering what the heck that guy is doing there :P

Gurkog uses orcish armor because... he is an orc! he learned a bit of restorative magic because the mine he works in has mages blasting rock with destructive magic while he goes in for collecting ore, nasty cuts and burns from flying rock shards! That also explains why he has a natural resistance to damage and magic... you have to be tough to work in such a volatile environment. The life stealing mace is used when a mage aims a spell a bit too close to him.... poor mage never makes that mistake again!

Fae'jun uses her magical talent to create and test enchanted armors. The ability to blast the gear with elements and conjure all kinds of beasties to chew on it helps to perfect her art!

EDIT: I know, I know. Me lacks imagination!

@ Hairdo Galosh Jam
I really like Gordol, but I'm affraid vanilla Oblivion doesn't have mohawk hairstyles available. I see you also went for style above functionality. Good job on that, I wish more people would do it. :goodjob:

@Trannigan
Drekbal looks good.

@TheNord
Thuadra will need some fixing up. Your budget is 8000 gold and you don't get to pick your own arrows. All archers get the standard Silver Arrows and that's final. I can give her a cobat style that will always use a bow, but if enmies go to melee with her she might still waste some time putting her bow away and taking it out again. I'd recommend giving her something that will help her stay away from enemies. ;)

@John123
All your characters are named John, so yes, you really are predictable. ;) And I'll need to know Gaiden's specialization and attributes.
