Well, since the forum for some reason has stopped me from editing my last post for a new bug.
Whenever my character presses V to throw a weapon while I am holding one, Oblivion CTDs. Is it the key or something?

I remember someone explaining this fix but I can't remember who or seem to find it.

What files did I need to delete for DR6 to work with HGEC?

Is there any reason why no matter what the legs don't show and the enemy is not affected by kicking?
And can I downgrade to version 5 to get rid of all these bugs?

Throwing Weapon Feature (mostly crashes):

For Missing Mesh issues, Runtime Error crashes and other NifSe-related conflicts: DragoonWraith has already fixed these problems and is waiting for Skycaptain to implement the changes.

Unintentional Nudity Meshes:

You must delete the corresponding nvde mesh files in order to remove the nudity. These files were not intended as a part of Deadly reflex 6 and as such will not affect any part of deadly reflex if removed. Delete the following:

Data/meshes/characters/_male/ body femalefoot femalehand femalelowerbody femaleupperbody foot hand lowerbody upperbody upperbodyhumanfemale

Mmm opening post also mention something about kicking, but is your acrobatics actually high enough to use them?

Sometimes kicking will not effect the enemy, if you will start the attack with a power attack the following kicks will work.

I was just wondering, is it possible to make it where you dont lose your momentum when a battle is over? I have the momentum loss from time set to 0 and I want to make it where your character gets "on a roll" and carries there momentum to the next fight. Also I am experiencing random CTD's in different situations involving DR6 but it doesnt happen too often to cause a big problem. weird.

I think I installed the mod correctly and it's last in my load order, but I'm not getting any deadly reflex deaths. I can't flip or bash or use any deadly reflex functions. Sometimes, a key configuration menu comes up but it doesn't bind or do anything. I see some basic Deadly Reflex attacks. This is just not working though. What's the deal? I didn't have this problem with DR5, which I did remove before upgrading.

CyberRaptor : are you using OBSE 19? if you do dose you game patched to the latest patch?
OBSE doesn't work with versions prior to 1.2.0.416.
Try to see if you installed obse to the correct folder (main oblivion folder)

Yeah and it generates a repeating error in the log that says:

Invalid array access - the array was not initialized.

I think we are past getting it to work, if you cant get this mod to at least perform all the functions then you need to whip out your snes and leave elder scrolls for the people who can. It's just a matter of bugs, CTD's, and bad textures now.

I'm having the issue with thrown torches not lighting their surroundings. If I make a save and then load that save, the torch will cast light on the surroundings. In the first post Skycaptain mentions he fixed this problem but the solution isn't described.

I dont understand why the first post just list peoples problems but little sollutions. Idk, but I have no problems with the mod at all except the occasional CTD which svcks but doesnt happen too often. I wish there was a fix for it. Usually happens when loading or performing a sneak move.

@Rightemboyo: If you are using DR 6 and still have a key configuration menu pop up then you did not properly uninstall DR 5 before you installed DR 6. You must clean save after removing DR 5 and before adding DR 6. Refer to the opening post of this thread for instructions on this procedure.


Thanks for the answer. Actually I've never even downloaded DR5, so that shouldn't be the issue. I think I'll still try the clean save and re-install.

EDIT: I didn't play for a month so I lost track of what I was doing. So I'm referring to my post on the second page of this thread. I've done the clean save and all that, and the problem persists. It only exists in DR6, not in vanilla Oblivion or any other application.

Okay this is a problem i had but I never used DR5, nor ever heard of DR to begin with. I downloaded DR6 and everything works fine until you die and relaod then the button menu pops up. the best way around this is too uninstall DR5 the right way(which isn't hard, and install DR6 the proper way(also not hard, then as soon as you load, insure all the DR6 functions work properly and the save you game before dying or reloading. This shoould eliminate the butoon popup.

For some unknown reason the arrow isn't lining up correctly when I draw my bow in sneak mode. When I fire it flies true but when it's drawn it's sticking through my character's hand.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already but if people are having troubles after reloading a save then that's your problem. At least reload from the main menu and not the game after you die, but your best bet is to quit the game when you die. A number of mods become unstable after you reload a save, so it isn't necessarily an issue with DR6. At least from what I've told, but considering the insane number of glitches that appear when reloading my saves I'm gona say say it's true.

Anyways I'm loving this mod so far. I love how I have to play aggressively now instead of holding my shield up constantly. I'm using the 250% damage and timed block esp as well. This mod plus Duke Patrick's Combat Archery makes combat with conventional weapons very quick and effective, plus it makes the game "hardcoe" by my standards, i.e. I die a lot and there's a learning curve with skill development. It took me a while to get the hang of the combat system, it very much reminds me of Dark Messiah, but once I got the hang of it I was able to take care of those pesky Highwaymen!

However with all these high damage mods I didn't even notice the few fireballs thrown at me, so I think I need higher damage magic. I'm currently using LAME, but can anyone suggest a magic mod that goes good with high damage DR6 and Combat Archery? I hear Supreme Magika works with LAME. I only use lame for Stranded Light, I actually don't use magic.

Is there a way I can use deadly reflex 5 with the animation changes from deadly reflex 6? I say this because although I love deadly reflex 6, the CTD's with combustive convulsion, the elimination of the bow zoom, and the occasional first person camera glitch make the updated version unplayable for me. What I would like to be able to do is play with deadly reflex 5 but

A) have no lag with the shield bash/use the shield bash animation from DR6
B] have no lag with the standing impale animation that is performed after a knockdown/use the new impale + quick impale animations from DR6
C)have the same basic first person animations from DR6--for example: running with a weapon unsheathed.

I wouldn't mind losing the kicking/headbutting and throwing features from downgrading.

So is this possible? What steps would I need to take to integrate the two mods in this fashion? Help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm having a lot of the issues concerning first person animations mentioned in the first 2 posts, like torch moving annoyingly much/getting in the way, things looking as if my head is sitting in my chest in first person (e.g. point of view being too low) etc... Would it be possible to fix stuff like that by deleting some of the animations that came with DR6 without breaking functionality, and if so, which ones? Think it should be fine as long as I don't remove animations which are required for new functionality like kicks/headbutts/impales/decaps etc?

Would appreciate an answer thx :)

Do you have other animation replacers? I had the "point of view being too low bug" when I used Speh's Hand to Hand replacer. I fixed my problem by uninstalling both mods and reinstalling them, only I did not reinstall Seph's hand to hand idle pose. The mod works great without anyway. I noticed that deleting animations on the fly could cause some bugs in DR6, that's why I uninstalled it to fix the compatibility problem with the other mod.

I use Sytlish Jump myself, so it's not the one. Out of the blue, I'd say have a look at Staff Pose and Bow Pose from Idles Poses Replace. My problem was with an idle pose that modified hand to hand when in combat.
I'd gladly test it, but that won't happen before tonight. If you have time, try to uninstall it and see how it fares.

edit: did you download them on Nexus?

For some reason I'm getting a major lag whenever I try to throw a torch or weapon, similar to another poster earlier in this thread.

I ONLY have Deadly Reflex, the Unofficial Patches, all of the DLC+Shivering Isles+Knights of the Nine installed, have optimized my load order with BOSS, and have made a bashed patch.

Whenever I throw a weapon or torch, I get a 6-10 second freeze, and then the weapon or torch has a chance to either 1) Magically appear where it was going to hit and fall to the ground, or 2) Disappear completely. Or even in the case of one attempt, the rusty iron dagger falling to the ground, being labeled as a "Torch" and being impossible to pick up.

Any help?

I think the solution to the lag is to get rid of the spatter esp and then move the others behind the Bash Patch. Like this...

(all other esps)
Bash Patch
Mounted Spellcasting.esp
Deadly Reflex 6.esp

Even though BOSS puts them where it thinks they should go you need to move them so they are last.
