Yeah the torch thing was annoying, that's why I switched to lanterns lol. Hmm, the throwing weapon thing worked fine for me but I've only tried a couple of different weapons.

I used an enchanted dagger from Francesco's overhaul, so it certainly wasn't vanilla. I wonder if that could be the cause. I might just stock up on Iron Daggers and treat them as expendable ammunition :P

I probably shouldve just posted here to begin with... oh well... anyways, I can play oblivion for about 3 seconds before it crashes since doing steps 7-12 for dr 6

Ive tried deactivating the new mods that come along with DR, such as the first person legs and OBGE, however when I load a save I get about 3 seconds of smooth play and the game crashes...

DR6 was working perfectly before I did steps 7 to 12

OK, I'm not going to try out DR6 yet so hopefully the elemental effects are the same in DR5/DR6. But I also want to tone down or even disable NPC dodging as I find it annoying (well, globally rather as my chars never dodge). Can't find anything in the readme about it - is there a way to do it via the console?


Couldn't find anything either, but there's a setting in DR6 ini that seems to control that.

set scc.victimDodgeMult to 0.1 ;NPC dodges player move mult


DR5 has no ini so maybe there's no way.

Did you enable drsplatter.esp? That's known to cause CTD, OBGE itself is fine. Other than that, can't see anything that could be wrong..

nope its disabled, I had an earlier installation of OBGE when they were first developing godrays.fx... though i deleted the old obge.dll in the obse plugin folder.

Apropos frozen creatures, I did mention it already on the FCOM thread but just noting it here again. Shattering Ancient Gargoyles causes instant CTD, normal gargoyles are fine though. no clue what's different. So just ran away when they're frozen. :tongue:


I don't get any frost criticals for some reason. I'm using "set scc.magiccriticalmult to 1" which should mean a high chance of getting them if I understand it correctly but I haven't got a single one after casting perhaps 100 frost touch spells. Do I need to Import Spells into the Bashed Patch or something? DR only has the Graphics tag. :unsure:

EDIT: It won't work on Storm Atronachs either. Does it conflict with Supreme Magicka, which also has elemental critical effects? IIRC, you should be able to use both w/o issues. Anyway, as it is I can't check it out as I can't get it to work in the first place,

Only have Graphics tag here too and I'm also using Supreme Magicka. They'll turn white when frozen. Ah well, it's just one of many oddities I have to live with in my game lol. The issue with EH + DR6 should be solved if you use obse20b6, was fixed recently.

Do you have any idea of what it might be? It happened after installing the additional mods to go along with DR... its very frustrating and I cannot figure it out.. :(

Aw, curses! DR6 doesn't work well with my computer for some reason and I was hoping to get rid of it.. all the enemies squatting around in front of me is awful annoying. ><

So does anyone have any suggestions for this? Please? Par quay? Por va for? im at a total lost! and extremely depressed, cause i just had gotten oblivion to work again after a half year of not playing, and installing this stuff completely broke it, even starting a new game it crashes after 3 seconds.

EDIT: So now im even more confused, when I disable DR6, horsecombat.esm the deadlymoves.esp and timed block, my oblivion is stable, but before I had those enable before I installed the step 7 - 12 stuff and it worked perfectly.... ehh this is confusing.

Apropos frozen creatures, I did mention it already on the FCOM thread but just noting it here again. Shattering Ancient Gargoyles causes instant CTD, normal gargoyles are fine though. no clue what's different. So just ran away when they're frozen. :tongue:


Can't check it out in game as said as I can't get DR6's critical frost effect to trigger, but it's a weird issue as Ancient Gargoyles basically just are buffed Gargoyles. They are using the same skeleton and the same mesh so it's beyond me what might be causing it.

Maybe it has something to do with the ammount of health left when shattering (or with their max health). By the way, should you end up reinstalling DR5, the console command avoiding NPC to dodge is "set skycaptainsConditions.victimDodgeMult to 0".

Yeah, must be something like that. Can it be that the base scale of Ancient Gargoyles is 1.20? But that would surely mean that there would be issues with other creatures as well I guess.

Thanks for the console command. I skipped DR5 during this game, waiting for DR6 - and now after briefly checking out DR6 I think I actually prefer DR5. I won't use the new features anyway plus I get dizzy by the changed 1:st person view and the graphics get messed up as well when playing with FOV 90.

Sigh my problem is just getting even stranger. The only way I can even get oblivion to run now is if I activate unnecessaryviolence.esp and load a save game. It comes with the pop up dialogue asking me what keys to set for UV than the game freezes for 30 seconds, unfreezes. I can play as i see fit, save load games. However if I close out of oblivion, even changing nothing to my load order or doing anything whatsoever. If I try to load that same game i just saved before closing, oblivion CTD's.

So it seems now i cannot only run DR6, but I cant run oblivion period, unless i activate a mod that gives me pop up dialogue to set keys, than I can play, but if I close out and try to play oblivion without any mod asking me to set keys it just CTD's... this makes NO sense what so ever.

I don't see how installing the crap from steps 7 - 12 just broke my oblivion... any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Well, there are issues with other creatures, I remember having ice effect related crashes with other creature types. The only one I remember was a big buffed goblin like creature, so both theories make sense.

If your Oblivion only works when you have a mod installed, surely you have an esp dependant of that mod checked. Found it and uncheck.

Oh, I didn't mean to put down DR6 in any way. It seems to have several cool features not in DR5. But personally I'm not interested in kicks and throwing weapons, for example, so might as well stick to DR5. If I played on default FOV I'd probably try out DR6 more, but it looks quite weird in FOV 90 when casting spells etc. But that's not DR6's fault of course.

No its not that, Im saying any mod that props you for dialogue, i.e to hit keys in makes my game work, only temporarily. If i close out oblivion and load that same save game it crashes within 3 seconds, or even starting a new game.


Im saying that I have to constantly have a new mod that pauses you for dialogue when you load the game. Other wise it just lets me play for 3 seconds and crashes.

But for some reason if theres dialogue, it instead freezes my game for 30 seconds, Then lets me play smoothly, saving and loading as i please until i exit out of oblivion.

... Its a strange problem that Ive never had before. and its because of steps 7-12...

Well, I suppose the first thing you have done is uncheck all new mods from steps 7-12. so, as menuque is a OBSE plugin and thus the uninstalation is different from a normal mod, maybe this is what you haven't uninstall. Check that you have deleted all files aded by menuque.
EDIT: the same is applied to OGE.

I remember a 30 second freeze and i think it was when I added OBGE and shaders. But it would work after that and I think it was mentioned in the readme. Or I could be recalling the wrong mod.

Aye... when I uninstalled I removed the files in the OBSE etc,

Basically I uninstalled by having all the zip files open, seeing where all the files were and removed all of the files i extracted..

still ctd... :(

It seems like you installed the files manually. Please install those files via obmm, activate them and let obmm override the existing files then unactivate and see if the problem still there.

Hello there,

first I honor the developer(s) for such a great plugin.
I've some issues with Deadly Reflex 6. At first it seems to run great, but as longer I play as more unstable it gets. Now I get to a point where the keys for specials abilities like kicking or throwing doesn't work anymore :(

I read the spoilers in the first post and i installed it correct for sure. I installed the whole archive via Bain. The only thing is, that i use OBSE v0020 cause the README of NifSE says that this version is recommended.

Therefore i also use all needed files:

- DLT_OBSE
- NifSE
- OBGE
- SP1stPersonLegs.

The ESPs are loaded after my Bashed Patch, 0.esp and correct sorted according to the Readme of Deadly Relfex.

Any clue what could be wrong?

EDIT: Oh and I play on Steam. But i didn't got any Problems with the Steamloader for OBSE yet...

So everything was working fine before? Sounds odd.. Try resetting the mod and see whether that helps. Open DeadlyRefexINI.ini and find "set scc.resetMod to 0", change 0 to 1. Load your game and see if everything's working. Remember to change resetMod back to 0 afterwards.

Alternatively, there's suppose to be an hourglass in your inventory that can be clicked to reset the mod. Never tried that before though since I've it disabled.
