No! As you are missing a master, the game will not load! Also, you are using both DR 5 and DR 6 simultaneously. :facepalm: Uninstall DR5 first, clean save and READ THE README for DR6 :read: (it specifically asked you to do so).

PS: Also run BOSS and read the BOSS log to determine your mods order is oK or not. ANd use spoiler tags for listing your load order to avoid scrolling for all.

I hope you created an OMOD out of DR6 (not manual install), so just uninstall DR6 using OBMM (or BAIN if you used that). Also, uninstall

Then run BOSS, read the BOSS log and make corrections. Finally rebuild your bashed patch.

I noticed a few things that could be improved in your load order:

12 UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp [Version 1.0.0]
This can be done as a Wrye Bash tweak while building hte bashed patch, so suggest not using this and using the bashed patch tweak instead.

13 Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp
This is not needed based on other's recommendations I've read on this forum.

Read the MMM thread about these. I am sure both of these are not meant to be used together:
4B Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Runeskulls Loot.esp [Version 3.7b3p3]
4C Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse Runeskulls Loot OOO.esp [Version 3.7b3p3]

IIRC, I think the latter one is the preferred esp these days.

Because the SM patch for DR is outdated, don't use it. :wink_smile:


This is not correct m8, the latest version of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12466 works perfectly with DR6

Just thought i would repost my issue and this happens with other mods that require me to set a hotkey so it could be a local issue. However when i start a new game or try to load any other pre-existing character except the one i logged onto the first time i used DR6 i cannot seem to get the hotkey's set. The stranger thing is that despite having the keys already set in the .ini like the install instructions noted i was given a series of menus telling me to push only the key i wanted to set for each. This wouldnt be a problem if the keys actually set, instead they seem to be set at random including making the bash key the up movement of my mouse. Im hoping this is an issue that can be fixed within my system so that mods like Craftybits work as well.

hoping for some help with torches.

i'm using this: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34644 because I prefer the way it handles the torch hotkey. Think I have configured the DR6 .ini correctly, but it doesn't seem that the light from the torch is throwable... i can throw the torch, but the light stays put.

here's the .ini line:

Hi,

I love this mod, and wouldn't go back to vanilla combat. I have one issue with initiating attacks. When I release an special attack (attack+direction), my character lets out one quick slash before starting the special move. This messes up the combat, of course, since there's always that one unintended move before whatever I try to do.

The bug appeared after I re-installed Oblivion because of general instability. I did a clean install of Oblivion in a new folder, installed a number of other mods and installed DR 6 with OBMM. When I saw the problem, I made a clean save without DR, unistalled DR, installed it again and loaded the save. Everything worked nicely, I edited the keys from my .ini as I like them, but the problem persisted. Deadly Reflex reset item fixes the problem, but of course it also wipes out my key bindings for that session. And when I've gone through the DR pop-up menus, which ask you to choose key bindings for bashing, dodging etc, I get a message telling me that I'm now ready to play, and the problem appears again. My Oblivion keyboard attack key binding works normally, only the mouse attack buttons are messed up.

I wonder if any of you could help me pinpoint the problem any further. Thanks!

@Rightemboyo: If you are using DR 6 and still have a key configuration menu pop up then you did not properly uninstall DR 5 before you installed DR 6. You must clean save after removing DR 5 and before adding DR 6. Refer to the opening post of this thread for instructions on this procedure.

Having a small problem with DR5 after installing the hotfix. Whenever I log into a character, the game gives me this message:

Deadly Reflex has a problem. Report this problem to Skycaptain ASAP! You can temporarily fix this problem by opening the console and tyoing set skycaptainsSB.victim to 0.


I typed that into the console and everything seemed to be working fine, but I figured I should report this here anyway before weird things start happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone experienced an issue with changing the Oblivion.ini setting - fNearDistance=0.0000 ?

When I change this setting as suggested in the ReadMe, I see graphical glitches on grass and distant LOD such as roofs, walls etc...
The graphical glitch almost looks like the same effect when Grass moves very fast, similar to a timescale setting of 1000 or so.
This issue could be caused by an incompatibility with another mod, but I haven't narrowed that down yet. Just wanted to see if anyone else has already reported this bug.

Does anyone if it`s possible to use only the Timed Block.esp without the Combat Moves.esp and the HorseCombat.esm? I would like to test something.

I was using this in a game before, but unfortunately I got a virus and had to delete the game and reinstall Oblivion. I remember at that time, my player could throw torches but the first tme he threw a weapon, the game crashed. I installed the Thrown Weapon meshes and everything worked fine. I also let BOSS set my load order, which didn't put the Combat Moves.esp last anymore. I noticed someone (maybe SkyCaptain, but I remember it was someomne working on the mods) said that even though the Read Me said to do so, it would work without it. Same was said for the DRSplatter.esp. My game was fine until I got the virus.

I've since started a new game and I just tried to throw a torch and it freezes the game. I reloaded to test it again and it did the same thing. I've also used BOSS to sort out my load order (see below). I'm sure this must have been addressed somewhere else, but there's so many threads and comments that I don't know where to begin looking. The beginning topics on torches mentioned nothing about freezing, just mostly lighting issues.

What is causing the torches to freeze the game, and how can I fix this?

By the way, i'm pretty much using all of the same mods I used in the last game, except the Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.

Edit: I reordered my .esp's according to the Read Me but i'm still freezing when I attempt to throw a torch. Turns out my silver dagger causes a freeze as well, and i've already installed the mesh fixes. I'm not sure why it's not working now, but worked before. Help anyone?

Edit: I uninstalled DR6 for the time being until I find a solution for this problem. I reinstalled it in hopes it would work, but i'm still having the same issues. I'll wait for a reply.

Either way, great job! I don't think I've ever had modded Oblivion as stable as it is with DR6 :tops:

Yes their is actually a very easy way to do this.

All you need to do is go into the Oblivion/Data/Meshes/Characters\_Male Folder and then make a copy of the onehandattackforwardpower.kf then delete the onehandskill4attackforwardpower.kf and rename your copy of the onehandattackforwardpower.kf to onehandskill4attackforwardpower.kf.

Do the exact same thing in the Oblivion\Data\meshes\Characters\_1stperson\ folder and you will have your character performing the double hand thrust instead of the jumping power attack.

Hopefully that clears everything up.

Ok. 3 posts ago, I mentioned something about my game freezing whenever I threw a torch or a weapon. I wasn't clear about clinfidel's instructions on getting 'lag' when this happened on occasion, so I didn't really pay attention to it. This time I decided to wait after I threw a torch to see what would happen. After about 6 or 7 seconds or so, I regained control and the game went back to normal. I noticed the torch on the ground in the direction I threw it. I also noticed another torch on the ground in front of me in a few instances for some strange reason, as if I threw one and dropped another. Also, when I went to try to pick up the torch I had thrown, there was a closed fist icon instead of an open hand icon and I wasn't able to pick it back up. Per clnfidel's instructions, I uninstalled DR6, made a clean save, then reinstalled ONLY the HorseCombatMaster.esm, the Timed Block with no damage or durability changes.esp and the Combat Moves.esp. I tried putting these 2 .esp's at the very end of the list, immediately following the bashed patch, then I tried placing the bashed patch at the very end of the list, immediately following the 2 .esp's, and still got the same results. I also reinstalled OBSE v0019b, which I already had installed in the game in the first place. I also reinstalled NifSE (beta 2 I think, whichever one said to use for DR6). I'm still having this problem, and according to his instructions, 'we will have something to talk about'. So at this point, I have absolutely no idea why this is doing this. So I think clnfidel and I need to have a chat. lol Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Does DR6 muck up when you use different sword idle poses and run poses? There's a slight pause between the running forward motion and the forward power attack, which makes fighting in 3rd person a pain. I love KSTN Stylized Stance, but I also love Deadly Reflex more, I hate to have to pick..

Every mod works with steam. I'm running DR wonderfully using steam. Are you sure you have obse?

Still hoping someone can help me with my lag issue.

Edit: I decided to go ahead and uninstall DR6 then reinstall it. I tried loading my last clean save a few times, and either it made me run through selecting the hot keys again and then the moves stopped working, I was able to throw a weapon but not a torch without lag (but then the moves stopped working), or I didn't get any options at all. I'm seriously debating on just installing DR5 until these problems are ironed out. It's beginning to get very frustrating, and i'm not sure why it worked fine on my last game but not this one. I'm not blaming anyone. There are bugs and these take time to fix. Either that or i've done something wrong. But i'm pretty sure I haven't. I noticed other people had problems with animations ceasing to work. Maybe there was a solution that came along with it. Until then, hopefully someone can give me some advice. I'm still debating on whether to use DR5 or not. The Deady Reflex mod in general adds so much to combat, I don't know if I can polay without one form or another.

Mods like OBSE or MGE don't work with Steam. Apparently they "access the main executable which is not the same as the retail .exe, as it is encrypted for Steam's DRM".

I do not know what this means.
