[RELz] Deadly Reflex 6 (Beta) - The Official Release and Bug

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 5:31 pm

Basically with DR6 installed I seem to always be in trouble with the guards. they won't arrest me but I always have a minor bounty. I noticed occasionally running through town if I cast self buffs or healing spells the guards sometimes duck. I assume this is what is causing the assaults.

Nope, neither the ducking nor bounty seems to be from DR. Probably some other mod's scripting or conflict. You might want to start a troubleshooting thread and post your mods list, maybe someone would have an idea.

How can the ducking not be from DR when the DR is the only mod that adds ducking?

Also I've found the some posters on Nexus that are having the exact same issue. Basically the use of restoration magic is considered an offense / assault

I meant the guards ducking like that. Again, as I've said probably some other mod conflicting. Haven't seen anyone mentioned such an issue in ages and personally have never experienced it. Try disabling your mods until you find the culprit.

I use DR5, and I know that casting a spell near a friendly NPC will piss them off, even if it is a healing spell, and they duck. Maybe, this issue might still be prevalent in DR6?

Perhaps both of you can compare load order and see what's in common?

Hi guys I'm having first person skeleton problems with Deadly Reflex 5 + UV2.

With the DR 5 or UV2 default skeletons if I use DRbash then my skeleton suddenly gets tall with a weird almost fisheye fov problem and is stuck that size until I reload. DRdodge clips far under the ground which isn't as bad of a problem but still annoying.

I've also tried these skeletons:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37596

This skeleton was taller which I don't have a problem with except that I couldn't see my equipped staff and if I DR bashed my arms would bug out and clip in front of my vision.I think increasing my neardistance ini setting might fix the arm clipping but I'd like to be able to see my weapon.

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40482

Shorter skeleton and I can see my weapon. This seems to be the size that I'm suppose to be except I still have the same probably has the default DR/UV2 skeleton. When I DRbash my skeleton grows super tall and gets all bugged out.

Anyone here that uses DR 5 that knows which skeleton I should use to get this working?

Thanks guys.

Using DR6 but it should be the same, did you install only one of those skeletons? Install both, Controllable from Universal first then the compatibility skeleton on top of it.

Thanks for responding omeletted. I couldn't figure it out so I just went back to DR6 which I haven't had any skeleton problems with. The DR6 animations seem different and they work better with the skeleton that it and UV2 come prepackaged with.

IIRC, this is a known issue with DR5...

I've seen it mentioned for DR6 at least once too but the person never followed up. Never experienced it myself, went to the market district and lobbed charm and healing spells around and didn't get any strange behavior. Any spell and any friendly NPC? Odd issue.

Doesn't always happen in my install - in fact, it happens around 5% or less. I guess it has to do with the particular NPC's aggression, but I have been smacked around by Vilja if I self-heal too close to her at times too.

One sure-fire NPC I remember who ducked was the jeweler added by Better Cities in Skingrad. There were countless others, though I can't recall a unique NPC at the mo. I just have made it a habit to not cast at NPCs when they are looking at me...

I am having the usual clipping with bows in Deadly reflex. I already tried to change the fneardistance but it cause a weird tiling/shadow issue. When i walked the shadows kept moving across buildings and on rocks the quickly resetting. Its really annoying

If you want us to see those screenshots, you'd have to upload them to an online website, as this forum does not upload files. I suggest "bildr.no".

Ok that blidr.no wouldn't allow bigger than 1mb so i uploaded to flickr. As i said changing the ''fneardistance'' to 0.0000 helped with the clipping but my arm still gets in the way of the view, even when wearing no clothes. Also it cause a really annoying shadow issue, so i think i am going to have to change it back :(

EDIT: Hhm.. I have been searching around on the internet, and it actually may be related to self shadows, although i am nearly sure i have it disabled? I am going in to check again and see if it fixes it.

i know...i'm a ***** idiot that do not read the entire thread...
still i have a little question...
i suppose it's a well know bug...when i kill...and by kill i mean decapite...some imperial guard (in this example)...they are marked as "unconsious" (can't be loot)...but the scariest thing is that they stand up...
any idea...?...

ps : sorry for my bad english
i only have FCOM deadly reflex 6beta101...and i'm testing BBB and NoMaaM animation ( but i think i will delete them...)

Script hacking. Killed the in-game key customizing thing as well. Don't think either fix is relevant for DR5 though.

Well, I'd love to move to DR6 if most of the outstanding issues were resolved. Maybe you could upload the script fix "temporarily, until skycaptain returns" (like most fixes to DR6 have been uploaded)?

an unoficial fix would be nice...don't think that's outragous...
the mod is in a beta phase after all...

Besides some minor quirks, DR6 is pretty stable really. I've been using it for more than a year after all. Which is kinda frustrating, since that's how long Skycaptain has gone MIA. o.O Don't think I'll upload an unofficial fix. For one thing it's just new player hackery, for another from Nexu's permissions page:

Modification permission
You are not allowed to modify my files, including creating bug fixes or improving on features under any circumstances

The only proper, unofficial fix uploaded is HeX_0ff's NifSe compatibility patch. Kinda different case and from a respected author.
