This mod is absolutely phenomenal

Weirdly enough, my favourite features isn't horse combat, throwing weapons, criticals, or any of the main features: it's the new first person cam

It makes you feel so involved in the combat, the way you duck, weave, stagger and swing just as your character would, in contrast to vanilla's stationary cam. All of the other features are brilliant, of course, but this has to be my favourite

Related to my question, in bold, about different versions does not seem to matter. I have tried on both 2008 and the 2010 redist packages. Both same crash. I didn't think it would matter since it's only crashing on certain meshes but I wanted to rule it out. I'm trying to rule as much crap out as possible...

Well I'm off to see the Suns and Bobcats play here in Charlette tonight! I'll be back later and check in on the progress. There has to be a solution, I refuse to believe otherwise! Keep at it folks!

Also if anyone could look at the other thread where I posted my crash issues that's related to DRSplatter.esp that would be great. Anyone else having similar issues related to splatter?

Pretty sure that pic that you posted is the same error I'm getting. I think the only difference is that my screen turns black when it happens (though I can still here the sound).

sean had a good idea, so I want to ask people: those of you who are seeing crashes, do you use OBMM's BSA alteration feature for archive invalidation? Those of you who don't have crashes, do you not use BSA alteration? BSA alteration should not cause any problems, and in reality if there is a problem there it's probably something I need to fix in the reader rather than an error in OBMM, but it could explain why some people have problems and others don't.

I did not use BSA Alteration(Unless it is set on by default when installing OBMM) when I got the crashes, so I doubt it is a factor.

OK, looks like we can rule out BSA alteration. Honestly I'm not terribly surprised - there was no reason why it should cause a problem - but it's kind of a shame because it was a pretty good idea insofar as if correct, it would give me something to work with.

Your version of the C++ redistributable should not matter in the slightest, no. If that was the case I'd've been rather worried, heh. Thank you for ruling that out, though, Smooth.

Since I can't reproduce the error on my end, if someone is familiar with a debugger you might try debugging Oblivion while testing. This is not something I can really guide you through (I'm pretty crap with using a debugger myself), but NifSE's source code is available if someone wanted to try it. I suspect it'll probably dump you in some byzantine assembly code, but maybe you can get lucky.

Skycaptain im absolutely loving Horse Combat!! I love riding around and owning bandits and wolves while on my horse! Havent had any issues yet, though ive only really used horse combat and the enw anims(which are awesome by the way!). Thx for this amazing mod, it truly makes my set-up!

I'm not sure if this is helpful to you, but the mod is working (almost] perfectly to me. It only stops working when I'm doing something I'm not supposed to. No CTDs after hours of testing with lots of different weapons, Vanilla and OOO. However, I -don't- have Shivering Isles installed on this machine, so this could be worth investigating.
Everything is bashed and I'm using the latest versions of OBSE, Wrye and OOO. My OS is Vista (32), if that even matters.

That's the error messages you get when running a mod dependant on OBSEv19, but only having OBSEv18 installed, so upgrade OBSE.

I'll post this in both threads.

I've noticed a non-vanilla weapon (that a got randomly from a creature at the Oblivion testinghall) that crashed like the vanilla weapons upon being thrown. It is part of OOO, it's called the "Paras Ecet." I haven't tested any similar OOO weapons so I'm not sure what to interpret from this. The weapons is located is Oblivion\Data\meshes\Weapons\Meteoric\metdagger.nif.

I'm so confused. :\

Okay so MJMax, KC33, Sean and myself are crashing at the exact same spot, when NIFSE is supposed to "Delete Child". So what else do we have in common I wonder. I don't think it's OS since I've seen folks mention Vista and 7, and I am using XP. So I think we can rule out OS since all 3 are crashing. I also have Win 7 that I could setup for dual boot but I've had no need to do that yet and would rather not just for this purpose.

Next maybe we need to investigate our LO's, but so far they seem drastically different. Others are mentioning OOO and FCOM when I'm using no overhauls. I'll post my LO here so we can compare what mods we do have in common though. Could a few folks that are NOT crashing post some logs and their LO please? This way we can have a "constant" to compare to, would help greatly.

I was planning to keep building my LO back to what it was but stopped when I had DR 6 problems. Now I'm considering removing everything EXCEPT DR 6 to test... I can do that in a matter of minutes with my BAIN installation but there are a few mods I simply cannot remove, such as weapon or armor mods. Or I would have no weapons or armor. I think other than that I can safely remove the others and get my save to load.

I'm running out of options here, but I'll keep digging... :brokencomputer:

I have not run into any consistant crashes so far. What exactly are you doing to get to "delete child." I could try to reproduce your problem. Also you can just disable all of your mods (esps and esms) without removing them. Then run vanilla oblivion with DR6 and yes all your equipment is gone but who cares, just buy or find a weapon, all you really need to test. I actually had problems with the HUD mod crashing constantly that I was able to fix by doing that.

I actually had problems with the HUD mod crashing constantly that I was able to fix by doing that.

It's in all of our NIFSE crash logs we've been posting related to throwing certain weapons. Most notably are weapons that use vanilla meshes, either in the BSA or extracted to loose folders. I tested both and it crashes either way.

Look at the last line of the NIFSE logs we've been posting to see the common line. This is where we're crashing when throwing certain weapons...
NifFile::getRegNif - Nif #120-7 found.

However if you look at my log that includes a successful throw of the Lumerian sword the line is...
NiNodeDelteChild: Child Deleted

So that's where the problem seems to start somehow. For whatever reason this action is causing the Runtime error. Well, that's what I've deduced from the logs anyway and I'm no expert by any means. I'm only comparing success versus failure to find common ground.

Oh and I've tried running DR 6 with bare minimum mods just a bit ago. That's a no go also. No matter what I try it's crashing the same. And for me with BAIN I can uninstall every mod in their entirety just as quick, or quicker than unchecking each individual ESP. BAIN is beautiful.

Yeah I just right clicked "disable all" in OBMM. But thats weird. throwing has not crashed me at all so far. I posted my log in the "Bugs" thread. Here it is again. I have thrown a few vanilla weapons but not all I'll try throwing as many as I can. Whats the name of an easy to find weapon that you crash with?

The Iron Claymore you threw will work without a crash, weapons without a Scabbard tend to work. And it says you have an Ebony Blade fix Mod, so that could be why it worked.
Best way to see if you suffer from the crash, is try a run of the mill vanilla weapon with a scabbard. It seems to be focused on the Vanilla Scabbards(In my case at the least)

I threw everything with a scabbard (and not) I could buy in Imperial City. This ones a little longer. If you guys could give me a specific name of a weapon that would be great lol.

It was much shorter, however, when the mod was still crashing on certain throws. The order has varied but the problems have been the exact same as far as I can tell.

You are one of the lucky ones, I've thrown a Silver Dagger and got the crash, and most the vanilla weapons in the log have Scabbards.

I threw everything with a scabbard (and not) I could buy in Imperial City. This ones a little longer. If you guys could give me a specific name of a weapon that would be great lol.

Iron longsword, iron shortsword, steel longsword, steel short sword, iron dagger, steel dagger, fine steel longsword, fine steel shortsword, fine steel dagger. Anything that is Vanilla and a longsword/shortsword/dagger that isn't dwarven/fixed (like your ebony longsword mod) crashes for most of us. Luminors, lanterns, and anything that isn't a torch also breaks the whole mod for alot of us.

The crashes are brutally consistant, also any SI guard/special weapons IE, Oder swords, golden/dark weapons & shadowrend, lose their meshes when thrown.

Our LO's are so drastically different I really don't think it's related to them, especially since I've crashed with a near vanilla setup also. Hmm.... This is very confusing. :banghead:

@MJMax: I notice you have the new DRSplatter.esp active. Do you crash on save after performing a critical that actual splatters your screen? I'm curious because as I mentioned in the other thread I crash on save only AFTER the new splatter effect is triggered. With it disabled I have no problems saving after critical kills. I've tried with DRSplatter as the only active, additional, shader. Still crash yet all other shaders from OBGE and other mods, like Realistic Health, work just fine.

Ugh I think I'm just gonna go play for a while and disable my throw key for now. Lets see how well my game acts without throwing weapons and no DRSplatter.

I'm having the same error that was described earlier - no crashing, but a good 5-10 second pause everytime i try to throw something. it throws successfully, just everything stops, and then a few seconds later it throws...

Okay this is good then guys. We know that my FCOM install (of all things) is working correctly. I'm going to backup my current everything. Tomorrow I'll put all my resources and settings into a single rar and give to you guys to test out. Also note that I have all official and unofficial patches installed. I also backed up my normal bashed patch and rebuilt it without any tweaks. And I just realised thats not relevant because Smooth already disabled all his mods. So I think Load Order has nothing at all to do with the problem. Also I am using windows 7. I did have problems at first getting the DR5 menu popups, and I had to uninstall DR6, get a clean save, and make sure each required mod was working individually, before I installed DR6. I'm kind of just spouting information atm lol. I think there are 2 things that could be wrong. Either one of the required mods is not installed correctly or more likely my oblivion is patched differently then you guys/different oblivion settings.
