[Relz] Deadly Reflex 6 - Combat Moves

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 12:55 pm

It appears it does NOT work well with BBB, which requires http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27945 to work. I do not know what the 3rd person anims in 1st person does to the skeleton to make it compatible, but do you think it would be possible to copy and apply those changes to CMCS to make both compatible?

I one-shot everyone with a thrown torch. :hubbahubba:

I too use both OOO and COBL so at first I thought that might be the issue. So I tried to set up the INI with what I found out with FormID Finder but the result was still the same.
If I wouldn't know any better I'd say the setting in the INI doesn't seem to be read and DR creates his own thrown torch anyway.

Other issues I quickly noticed after a bit of testing around:
- The intro menu is messed up for me. Window-backgrounds missing, invisible buttons and the like.
- I've had enemies kneeling down in front of me. Should I interpret this as a dodge? It looks a bit strange.
- I've occasionally had enemies suddenly becoming unhittable. After a bit of time and several different actions I could kill them again.

I'll have to investigate some more.

Ok, setting fNearDistance=0.0000 as suggested by the readme has messed up my intro-menu. Changed it back and it looks normal again. I run an interface mod (DarkUId DarN 1.6) if that matters?

Two things I've noticed so far:

1) When I press 'F' to sheath my weapon, it plays the sheath animation twice, and the sound twice. - resolved, read edit below.
2) Just passed a dead bandit I had previously looted, shook my head in disbelief and ran back to look at her. She was completely naked, even though I don't have a naked body mod installed. Is that supposed to happen? Naked body meshes had to be included for the cutting-in-half animation? Or did some of your body mesh files get uploaded by accident?

Those body meshes stress my CPU a bit more than normal, so I usually try to avoid them. I'll also have to download a texture for the body as well if it has to stay, since everything is just a pale skin shade. Everything :P

Other than that, so far so good! Combat works really well, but I've yet to try out the horse combat. I'll update with more later on.

EDIT: Changed the default dodge/flip key from F to left Alt, and now the first issue has been resolved. Animations look silky smooth, and a vast improvement over Vanilla's! Thanks! Still confused by the sudden nudity though. In fact, could that be a problem for the mod's advlt rating on TES Nexus? I'm not sure if the violence already makes it an advlt only file, but installing this mod has definitely introduced explicit content.

Requesting a donation page for a "Buy Skycaptain a Beer Fund". Thank you so much for your work. DR makes Oblivion a whole new game - I'm shelfing New Vegas and playing the living [censored] out of Oblivion for the foreseeable future.

Ok, just finished my first playthrough, its awesome  , though some minor problems

1.) Occasionally, thrown torches wont have any light emission, they still have the flame but it doesnt produce any light.
2.) My char is naked, :P , i mean when all armors are removed he no longer has his undies, was this intentional? for criticals or something,
3.) Head bobbing is cool, though sometimes it feels a bit too much, i suggest reducing the intensity a bit

Other than i had no crashes, no bugs, no clipping issues(i was surprised at that), solid playthrough, solid criticals again :), now on to customisation

To all, i would suggest also installing Enhanced Grabbing mod, so that the weapon you had thrown can be automatically equiped after you pick it up, its really useful in the heat of battle, also i would suggest getting a paralyze spell :P

Edit: Some more minor feedback

4.) Sneak run speed feels too slow, head bobbing is too much while sneak running, though it feels ideal while sneak walking.

What body did it install?

I chose not to overwrite the body replacers I use when I installed it. Not sure how that affects DR6, but I still have the old bodies. :)

Congrats on release! This is most excellent, Skycaptain!

The bit about the NifSE bug is incorrect, actually. If you throw a weapon, save, and load, everything will be fine. You only hit the bug if you then save again without retrieving your weapon - after loading, NifSE no longer re-saves things correctly. Also, at worst, the bug causes a missing mesh marker; under no circumstances should it cause a CTD.

I have no idea, and I wasn't aware that it would install a body mod in the first place so didn't specifically tell it not to overwrite the defaults.

Is it possible to uninstall the body mod, reverting to vanilla? And will DR6 still work without it?

Skycaptain, Skycaptain (sniffs loudly :D), why did you remove my favourite archery feature (i,e, zoom)?
I press attack whith bow, my character drows and holds. I can loose at will.
I press right mouse (block) + left mouse (attack) and... no holding of the shot... instead of zoom I get animation of fast immediate shooting of one single arrow.
Did I miss something in the resdme?

Is there a cure? Is here a fix for DR6 with zoom?

Apart from 1) this minor loss and 2) the confusion about bash/dodge/horsecombat keys and 3) DR hourglass not responding when reset enable=1 in DR ini, everything works fine, I kick bums and bums kick me :D

Still haven't tried to ride and fight but it is difficult to ented Darkness Hollows dungeons with Zeta's Shire Horse or even Slof's Black Unicorn. :D

So far things I noticed are:
1. Bow shooting animation in sneaking mode is slightly askew compared to vanilla. haven't tried in non-sneaking as enemy presence strong and dangerous :D
2. Momentum Bar slightly up and to the left from the other bars (health/magicka/stamina) with Darnified UI 1.3.2
3. Zoom does not work, instead of zooming the area, my char sees herself shooting single arrow, then - nothing happens, doesn't even reload.
4. DR Hourglass does nothing when I click on it. Even after I change
set scc.resetMod to 1 in data/ini/deadly reflex/ deadly reflex.txt

Can someone explain this blunt blade how to zoom whule shooting with DR6?
Or how to enable resetting DR with the hourglass as in v.3; 4 and 5?

Mmmh it appears there are some slight conflicts with both Piip (Enhanced grabbing) and Crossbows of Cyrodiil, in both cases the animation used are somewhat "altered", the grabbing animation from Piip seems to point your arm to the sky instead of where you're looking at, while for crossbows the whole grip angle is rotated...

Apart from this, great release!

(Actually we also discovered that Skycaptain uses nvde body mods :hubbahubba: )

This...must be a dream, can't be real...

What's next? Alexscorpion's Sneaking Gear 2.0? And Robert Male Body 6? (lol)

On a serious note, many thanks. And as a curious note, this mod made me reinstall Oblivion again ^^

That's because PiiiP's (and CoC's) animations are built around the vanilla first person skeleton, which is basically what Loup Sombre's mod replaces. You can still use the 3rd person animations without issues.

I reinstalled DR6 to find out what body mod it wanted to overwrite when I first installed it.
It looks like a Robert's male and a HGEC female body replacer. I used something similar, but with underwear.

So, you can't use body mods with DR6? Bash tells me that DR6 overwrites HGEC and Robert's.

Yeah, I know! I was just pointing it out, so Skycaptain and other users would know, no game breaking bugs, just a visual mess :P.

Edit: Also, does someone (Skycaptain?) know if DR 6 is be compatible with Shields on back mods? I never used those, but the arms animation in 1st person (wich is super cool IMHO) covers too much of the screen with a shield equipped...

I can′t talk much right now, in the middle of something. :)

I just checked in to see if I have totally messed up something with the download - well it seems nothing serious, but that BODY MOD IS AN ACCIDENT. Ignore it, don′t install it.

--

Yeah if you use other anim mods you need to put the 3rd person files in 1st person folder, or rename possible 1st person idle animations so that 1st person animations use 3rd person files.

---

If anyone has this point unclear - you need AT LEAST a clean save - for the love of god, don′t load saves saved with DR5 with DR6! You need to make a new save with both (combat moves esp) versions versions disabled. ;)

---

..hmm...what else...most kicks wont work unless you have acrobatics 50 - but apparently the mod alerts the NPCs just for trying.

--

reset...well that serves pretty little purpose right now, the ini is re-read on every restart, there′s no messages to display anymore, keys must be configured in the ini. The reset just resets silently some script variables, and is mostly an attempt to fix possible stuck scripts. Without unresposnsive scripts, it doesn′t seem to do anything.

Later guys, I′ll be back with more time! :)

Ok, good to know. Now how do I uninstall it? Do I just delete all the body mesh files? My originals have obviously been overwritten... Will they be automagically recovered if I delete the ones that came with DR6?
