Does anybody know a quick fix for throat slitting before the new version comes oui?

Skycaptain said there was a small error in the script which caused the chance for success to be incredibly low. I don't wanna go rummaging around in the scripts myself because I'll end up breaking it

Yay new topic! Hope I'll get to play around with this before I start school, or at least get to salivate over the new feature a little more.

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this question, but as I think the issue is from Deadly Reflex, I figured it can't hurt to ask here.

My character has recently been in a fight with a few archers, and took a couple arrow shots which caused Bleeding. So, now I'm wounded and bleeding to death. I can keep myself alive with magic, but it WILL NOT GO AWAY, even after I've healed myself to full. I've even turned on god-mode and sat on the spell cast button for a solid thirty seconds above and beyond full health. It still would not go away. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get rid of this bloody bleed?

Disable deadly reflex, load game, save, re-enable it again

Aye, I know about the reset to clear the mod, but my question is how do you clear it while still playing? It doesn't make sense that even after being fully healed, your STILL bleeding.

Deadly reflex does not add any bleeding feature. Must be another mod.

The lung puncture critical IS an archer critical hit feature of DR, just as if you are knocked down and an npc pulls a critical stab hit on you. It actually does make sense as to why you are still bleeding because in reality you are dying. Nothing can save you at that point because according to the scripting and game engine setup you have suffered a critical hit. I agree this svcks big time but there it is. The actual bleeding is an oblivion script that the critical hit has triggered thus it would take scripting and/or console command knowledge to disable or reverse (way beyond me). In addition to the disable/save route you can also just reload your game to a moment prior to the archer dual and replay it (I learned this lesson early - you can't save too often!!!!!). Good luck and I hope you get back in action soon!!!

The funny thing is that it's not a major bleed. I got hit with an arrow while standing upright. I was never knocked down. After the arrow strike, I started to continually loose 1 hp. Since I've got a ring that adds +1, I'm nuetral. I'm still taking health damage, so I can't fasttravel, but I'm not actually hurting. I'm full health with potions and spells and all that. It was only after I got hit again by that same group of bandits after clearing half of the group out that I noticed I'm still bleeding, only now it is -2 hp per tick. Again, I can stay alive indefinitly with potions and magic and such. It was just weird. Wouldn't a lung puncture be a LOT more severe then having the equivalent of a deep cut on your finger?

I imagine it'd depend on the size of the cut. one hp could be the equivalent of coughing up some blood. It won't kill you right away, but eventually you will bleed out or drown. Still, that bug does sound nasty, there should be a way to fix it. Special healing potions or expendable sutures. Personally I'd lean more towards sutures, and make it damage your health while its being applied, getting at the damage is messy :P

SC or another can jump in and correct me if I am wrong here but the problem is that you have suffered a critical hit. As far as I am aware critical hits are the same for everyone....your pc and the npc's. It would be total unrealistic if one of them suffered a critical hit from you and because they are a powerful conjurer just healed themselves (imagine them picking up their severed head and just putting it back on and then attacking you - npc god mode). I think this is more of a game engine restriction than a DR bug. Once the game is told you or an npc have suffered a critical hit then that is it. The lung puncture critical hit via arrows does not knock you or npc's down. You are hit in the torso and blood starts gushing out and health begins its terminal decline. It is a favorite thing of mine to do to those "think their so smart" magicka users to snipe them with an arrow and score that critical hit before they even know what happened to them.

If I received a critical hit, I could understand a very nasty gush of blood. However, it doesn't seem to make sense that your bleeding at a rate similar to a very nasty papercut. I've had this happen to multiple characters now, but I can't figure it out.

My warrior got two stacks of -1 each.

My ranger (much higher level) got two stacks of -2 each.

In either scenario, I could virtually ignore the damage, provided I didn't rest, as I had other resouces to call on to heal myself, be it potions, spells, or my companion Rhianna (in the case of the ranger). It simply doesn't make sense to me. So, I felt I should ask here as well as in the MMM thread, to see if someone had a solution. At this point, I'm stumped, and a little annoyed/frustrated sitting here watching my characters bleed to death from paper-cuts, but ONLY when they sleep. Makes me think of the Dark Brotherhood using very.....simplistic means to eliminate their targets.

I could have sworn I read that you can simply unload deadly reflex, save and reload it and voila problem solved. However, I have not tried this, so it might be a very bad idea :P

As long as the bleeding is a script effect added by Deadly Reflex, it would make sense that removing DR would solve it. If the bleeding is an effect already in the game that is triggered by Deadly Relfex, it would not work..

All this guessing is making me twitch ;p

I have read Duke Patrick's Archery and will this plus Deadly reflex and the deadlier archery thing in FCOM make archery devastating?

I am curious to see if any unarmed combat changes have been made, or is this mostly weapon based?

Would an unarmed character be able to survive with this Mod? or Just get torn apart?

In my experience Duke Patrick's Archery makes archery devastating on it's own! My companion Vilya can easily one hit most NPCs with the bow and arrows that I've given her, many of the medium to high level NPCs can do just the same to me. Unless you want almost every NPC archer to be a crackshot I'd advise against combining all three of these together.

help please... I spend the whole day yesterday playing the Knights of the Nine campaign. And now, when I am finishing it... I am STUCK! Because of Deadly Reflex :(

well, to cut it shortly, basically, it seems I decapitated the ghost of Sir Amiel. When I did it, I saw no problem, basically, I could still talk to him... on the ground (ghost killed normal way got up and returned to their positions... ghosts decapitated would stay on the ground).

But now, I finished the quest and appeared back at the basemant of the Priory of the Nine. I cant move, because the script should be Sir Amiel coming to speak with me. But since he was decapitated, he stays on the ground and wont come speak with me, thus, I cant move and I am stuck!

Any solution for this?

try using the command "resurrect" on him. It works 100% for me when I mess something up with DR.

how do I use this command? I pointed at the fallen ghosts, opened the console and typed "resurrect", and I got the message that this command needs a reference.

did you click on him? Make sure there is a little reference id at the top of the screen. and also, no quotes are required if you are adding any.

By the way...

Will Duke Patricks's combat mod work with this and FCOM? I like how the Duke made meele extremely deadly (or both you and your enemies) as I found the drawn out battles of Vanilla boring and unrealistic (no one should survive multiple hits in the head from a two handed axe).

The recent DR combat moves youtube video is certainly awesome, but I also worry if the battles remain to drawn out from damage not being increased. =)

Thanks for the help with the resurrect stuff. It worked.

Although I am still stuck, as Oblivion crashes as soon as I leave the Priory of the Nine to meet all my fellow comrade crusaders, after killing Ulmatar (I talk to the ghosts, then I talk to the black guy who tells me they thought I was dead, then as I exit the building, I see all of them out there and the game crashes :P)

As for Duke Patrick′s Combat mod... what I wonder is if you will get experience enough... I mean... if you need less hits to kill creatures, in theory, you get much less experience (both blade as well as armor, since you need to be hit several times to increase your armor exp)

Thats the same reason I use Deadly Reflex at 150% damage... 250% damage is more realistic, but I was afraid of the experience problem.

Does anyone else get "Your killing has been observed by forces unknown" randomly when you cut someone who isn't innocent in half? I HATE it when that happens. It even happens in oblivion gates when I'm slicing up Dremora! It shouldn't be a big deal, but I'm trying to play a purely light side character, so I don't want that tarnishing up their record. I usually save and load a lot.
