Deadric magic and Necromancy?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 3:52 pm

Some main quest in Oblivion, I can't remember which one, Martin mentioned something about Deadric magic. "I know better than anyone the seductive powers of Daedric magic". I'm just asking out of curiosity - but do you think/know that a new form of magic, perhaps a darker magic will be included. For example Necromancer Magic or Deadric magic?

Here's a link addressing and suggesting Daedric magic:

Conjuration basically is daedric magic with some zombies tacked on. I'd agree that they should run straight for making it daedric magic.

I actually asked Gstaff this week about this question.

Deadric magic is tied to the artifactes associated with them. The skeleton key with nocturnal, the mask of clavicus vile and Clavicus himself, for example. I don't see any other magics associated with deadra that isn't common to everyone.

Adding something like this might appeal to someone as a mod, could be interesting.

I think the focus on new forms of magic for Skyrim are in the dragon voices being introduced.

i doubt conjuration is quite on the same level as the daedric magic martin was performing... he was opening a portal into a daedric realm that mankar camoran created using a book that mehrunes dagon himself made, im pretty sure.

the ritual required quite a bit... great welkynd stone, great sigil stone, blood of a daedra [sacrficing a daedric artifact], blood of a divine, etc...

what does conjuration require? ...just raise your hand and make a pretty flash of light.

I believe Martin may have meant summoning Daedric princes.
Traditionally one can be summoned on its summoning day and placated with a suitable offering and/or invocation.
Of course, it can still go horribly wrong.

For instance, there might be a thunderstorm on Hermeus Mora's day and you accidentally summon Sheogorath and dont notice..

"Maybe the Wabbajack is the Book of Knowledge. Maybe I'm smarter because I know cats can be bats can be rats can be hats can be gnats can be thats can be thises. And that doors can be boars can be snores can be floors can be roars can be spores can be yours can be mine. I must be smart, for the interconnective system is very clear to me. Then why, or wherefore do people keep calling me mad?"

With that as a result.

Well those are Daedric artifacts and they are created using the essence of a daedric prince and gain their abilities from the aspect of the Daedric prince who's essence it is made from. For example, Nocturnal has the ability to see what other cannot and no darkness is too much for Nocturnal to see through and thus the skeleton key allows you to unlock the darkest parts of Tamriel and reveal them.

Then explain how we got the Spell Breaker from Peryite. Oblivion really dumbed that part down.

funny i was talking about this for the last few days, i personally feel that there should be powerful dark arts spells, and demonic magic, one of martins sayings was when he was talking about mankar camorans realm how he created it, he said mankar created it using the mysterium xarxes and dark rituals that he will not speak of further, and that got me thinking, want to be able to fulfill dark rituals of my own, and cast demonic magic and dark arts spell to do with necromancy

Daedric weapons and armor are made by binding the soul of a lesser Daedra to the item (made from ebony), a process known only to the Daedra. Maybe this is an example of Daedric magic?
