I did, sneak killed with the AMR, not much fun though might go melee next time :disguise:.

That thing killed me 4 times on a non-auto guns + no drugs build!

I finally had Raul wait out in the big corridor with a Brush Gun, sneaked in and killed the two smaller guys with a suppressed .308 sniper rifle w/AP rounds, laid 2 piles of 4 or 5 mines each, sneak shot the LD in the head and ran, yelling like a girl. Hee hee! Turned around in the corridor and we rained bullets and 12g slugs on it 'til it fell.

its funny how regular deathclaws seem so small and weak once u kill the legendary deathclaw

I think it just depends on the difficulty, in very hard, the Legendary handed me my lungs while i was wearing T-51b armor with one hit while i was using an Anti Material Rifle with AP Rounds, in Very Easy, Head shot and that beast went down with one hit.

Ayup. It was waaaaaaaaaay easier than people make it out to be, as long as you're prepared. I was level 30, and I went in with a YCS-186 Max Charge, and some Incendiary Rounds for mah AMR and sneak attacked everything I could, OHKO'ing most deathclaws and Ballistic Fisting (100 Unarmed) any Deathclaw that gets too close. Legendary Deathclaw went down after a sneak attack Max charge and a few more shots from the YCS and AMR. If you walk in unprepared for it, you'll get killed no doubt. Just keep your distance, sneak attack it, and keep running back shooting at it if you don't kill it and is starts chasing you.

Well, since the other fight you need to "be prepare" is fighting Oliver, of course it is "difficult".

Found it and killed it once. Character was 29th (sneak sniper), with Boone and ED-E. Had them wait in "hallway". Snuck up and set up mines, backed up a bit and threw a grenade to get their attention. (Was tired of sniping everything.) The plasma grenade actually killed one of the Deathclaws, and then that stupid kill cam cinematic thing happens even though I have turned it off (it won't turn off). So while my character is trying to back up in slow motion they all keep coming forward at normal speed. They set off mines that injure my character as well as them. Now all heck breaks lose as Boone and ED-E charge forward even though told to wait and stay back. My character pulls out hunting shotgun with slugs and starts blasting. We win, though my character has 5 hp left and the other two are unconscious. Didn't have time to use stimpacks, just shoot, shoot, shoot. The thing that saved my character's butt was the size of the Legendary and the other deathclaws (live and dead) in the tunnel leading out of his cave. It was fun and annoying at the same time. I hate that kill cam crap. Always bites me in the butt if there is more than one enemy. He made 30th after that fight.

I spent 40 minutes trying to kill him with using Pushy.
Legendary Deathclaw > Unarmed spec

Drugs, mines, followers. And the biggest gun you can find. And a reload or two...

Found the cavern today, not ready to go in there yet though! Lol.

The thing I found about deathclaws though, is they are either ridiculously easy, or rather hard work to kill, no where in between.

9 times out of 10 though a sneak headshot with the AMR will flatten them outright

I remember killing the Deathclaw; it took two headshots with the Alien Blaster

go in with your light machine gun and plenty of armor peircing ammo stelth out and kick deathclaw ass!!! lots of goodies and yes there id a monster death claw in there save and save often my friend.

I went in the Cavern and killed two deathclaws, moved on, killed 3 deathclaws, moved on, killed 5 deathclaws, moved on, killed 2 deathclaws and a Legendary Deathclaw.
I did it all with a Brush Gun.

For sneaky players, there's a rock opposite the entrance to the area containing the LD that you can hide behind (near the duffle bag). Draw the deathclaws out with a slienced weapon then snipe them. Hide behind the rock and wait for the deathclaws to settle down. Repeat until they're all dead. With 100 Sneak they won't find you. Mines and C4 speed up the process. It took me about 7-8 Gauss shots (normal ammo) on VH to kill it.

I was reading the game guide that I just bought and after roaming the map and finding this place, I noticed that the guide said that the Legendary Deathclaw was in Dead Wind Cavern. So I got excited, worked my way through to where he was and died. Twice. Once I actually put together a strategy, then I barely made it out alive. I was level 26 or something. I took a Pyscho and a Med-X beforehand and started lobbing dynamite and Incendiary grenades into where he was. This helped to kill the 2-3 regular Deathclaws, along with Rex because he decided to run into my Dynamite, haha... But I got lucky and the Legendary didn't come out at me during this. So I regrouped with Boone and Rex, went in after him and eventually ended up manually quickscoping his head off with my Anti-Material Rifle with Incendiary ammo with him RIGHT in my face because I didn't have enough AP... I got lucky

I killed everything in there for the first time, I use gatling laser(all mod) with max charge, my character is on level 30, energy skill maxed, those Deathclaws barely touch me ( play it on normal with hardcoe mode on)

is there another one besides mommy and daddy hasnt ventured in there but really needs to know has my alien gun too
