Alright so anyone go into Deadwind Cavern yet? I did and while I had some fun with the deathclaws I came across Godzilla!! :ahhh: All the sudden I look up at him his crotch right in my face, my stealth boy about the wear off :ninja: and then...He b*tch slaps me and I die 1 hit lol. Anyone else encountered this beast yet. And even more Important, anyone manage to kill this thing?? :fallout:

I bet some people have, not me though, I'm not brave enough to try

Me and Boone with AMRs with Incindiary ammo killed it, but it killed Me, Boone, and ED-E. (Fire killed it after it had killed all of us)

Damn, its just so ghastly! I had a stealth boy on waiting to see if deathclaws ever sleep, and they do.

Deathclaws sleep standing up with their eyes open.

I've killed it twice, the bloatflies at Goodspring cemetery have done more damage to me than it :shrug:

The Legendary Death Claw can see through your Stealth Boy. If you want to sneak you need to keep a LOT of distance and snipe him. That's how I handle it anyway. I refuse to go toe-to-toe with that thing.

It's not that hard. Just start of with a sneak critical and enough distance in between and unload everything you have on the damn thing.

That being said, don't attempt this with a varmint rifle and a machete.

Heh! No, it was fair and square, or however they say it. First time was with Avenger loaded with AP ammo, the second time a sneak attack from Gobi with JSP ammo, IIRC.

Now, this thread reminds me of that time...

A while back, on my first ever FNV profile, I decided to visit Deadwind cavern with an alien blaster. Poof, the deathclaws were gone in seconds. But... when I encountered the LDC, that's when it happened. My alien blaster ran out of ammo, and my only other weapons were a varmint rifle and service rifle. (yes, I sold the other weapons I had...) I decided that the SR would be a good choice, and before I could equip it... BAM! There I was, limbless, laying on the floor in a pool of blood. (ah, yes, the all-mighty power of the LDC.) But, when I went on my current profile (XshadowX), I managed to defeat it with a AMR. Neitherless, I was stunned to see the LDC had no items upon it. :brokencomputer: (but, seriously, you should at least get a Deathclaw Gauntlet like from F3, huh? It's hard to take out the LDC!)

I like the trail carbine, I took down the legend deathclaw with a few crit headshots (having the cowboy perk and high luck helps a lot).

only once have i tried. i strolled in listening to [post='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEwPrj580vA']this little bit of epicness[/post] with remnants PA and a grenade machinegun, and opened fire on them right as i saw them. he didnt know what hit him only damage taken was some AOE damage via the GM :toughninja:

TBH I didn't find it so legendary. It could've been so much more, but IMO it way too easy to kill. Fortunately for me I found a great mod (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1163276-relz-hardened/) that makes me shudder at the thought of ever going back there. :cold:

It won't follow you, the A.I is hinky.
If you leave past the tunnel leading to the cave section it's in, it will go back and start pacing again.
Then just move off and wait a tad, untill you're hidden, and try again.

Spawned 'em for video purposes; you only need like 2-3 to kill the LD on Very Hard, though.

i killed every deathclaw inside at level 18 with my melee character no lie! my melee skill was 65 perks were the purifer one and the perk that that increases your damage threshold i used 15 stimpacks ,slasher and turbo. i used a unique fire axe. now all regular deathclaws only take about 3-4 hits to kill. a also had rual as a companion and used only his pistol

I've fought and killed it twice. My 1st time I killed it in one shot with my Anti-Material Rifle. The 2nd time I killed it, was kinda ridiculous He ran right by me and I was able to use my Sniper Rifle to kill it before he hit me.

The Legendary DeathClaw actually suffer from the "too big" syndrome of the engine........thus its idea of attack range is a bit off......

I think it can be fix by limit it to use the jump attack exclusively (as that's the one would hit or hurt player anyways).

But yeah, kill it twice before DT fixed; once with This Machine, another with YCS.

Sneak attack headshot with the AMR, one-hit kill. Can't remember if I used a psycho (probably did). My sneak was only at about 50 and I was really close to him, so I dunno if I just got lucky with the AI or not.

Well, I walked right in there, by myself, dropped my pants and slapped him once round the face with my ****, fight over...
No, i havent found him yet but am glad i saw that video first, would've been a nasty shock!

You guys who have been killing him easily, were you doing it on very easy?

some Turbo and Oh, Baby! and the Legendary Deathclaw becomes nothing but a joke
