There was a misunderstanding. When you asked if NPCs use their abilities I thought you meant the passive constant effects because these are called abilities by the game. But Dragon Skin is a greater power and has to be activated. These are generally not used. So no, Bretons can't stack Shield, but the 50% Resist Magic is bad enough. And if they have the Atronach birthsign (like Jim does) any magic you use against them is only 25% as effective as normal.



I'm afraid the combat style has no effect on spellcasting frequency.

You're not getting the lich. It says in the rules that you can choose between a daedra and a skeleton. Since Lord Kacj is going to have 50 Conjuration the Daedra is a Dremora and the skeleton is a Skeleton Guardian. You also have a lot of unspent gold. You're going up against Crazy Jim, you need every advantage you can get.

And this point I'd also like to once again note that I'm taking the first 10 valid characters and at the moment only 7 of the 9 entered characters are valid. So if you're the 11th or 12th person to apply for the tournament you can still enter if you submit a valid character before Esmée and kacj321 fix their characters. But the character you enter must really be flawless.

I'd like to say I designed this character to play on Crazy Jim's weaknesses, but honestly, I don't know what those are. Here's my best try.

I didn't see the rule about Armorer being needed for Daedric Equipment this time, so I bought Daedric gauntlets. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, wouldn't it be better if Crazy Jim's Sword used Damage Health instead of the three elements?

Johnatan looks good. Yes, Armorer is no longer required for Daeric weapons. I droped that rule, because it mainly just caused confusion.

I have considered to give Jim a Damage Health enchantment, but that way only Resist Magic would counter it and I didn't want everybody making Bretons and Orcs. This way the natural resistance of Nords and Dunmer also becomes useful and we get 4 viable races instead of just 2.

The 10 spots are now filled, but Esmée's character still isn't finalized and can be replaced if you post a valid entry first.

then why not use a scripted enchantment to cause 20 damage, ignoring all defenses?

Similair, but not exactly the same. There are no more free weapons for people with weapon skills, Armorer is no longer required to get Daedric gear (it just adds money), Speechcraft just adds money, the free suit of armor doesn't include a shield, and you can only have 1 ring. There is also a new form where magic apparel is split into amulet, ring, and shield. Because that are supposed to be the magic item slots you use. More on that below.

Maybe I didn't make it clear enough, but I'm only changing the stats of the free armor to match Glass/Ebony. Any magic items will have their original stats. This means that choosing item like an enchanted Orcish cuirass can actually weaken a character (by reducing AR). It's also not very cost-effective to replace free armor because you pay for both the enchantment and the piece of armor you're replacing. That's why I generally intended for people to only use magic rings, amulets, and shields (because these do not replace any free armor). However, it's not a strict rule and I won't enforce. If you're happy with your character as is he is valid enough.

I also need to warn you that if you edit your character you risk being out, depending on whether Esmée has finished Rose-May.

he's confirmed, I knew it'd weaken his armor rating and i took that into account whilst figuring out what i could do with that money i just got.

I think ha actually might have a chance since Crazy jim won't be able to fight him well with magic (because it's raanged) and hopefully won't have a sword if when it gets close.

In that case I am now officially closing entries. I bow have to prepare the plugin, roll some dice to determine in which order the fights will take place and then the fun part can begin. And by "fun part" I mean "merciless butchering". :chaos:

While it would work for a player in the game the arena combatants tend to only get 1-2 shots with a bow off during a fight without a conjured something to distract their opponent. It saddens me so.

EDIT: If there is another tourney because noone bests Jim I will use a version of Gaylord in it.
