Dear Bethesda, add these elements to the Pip-Boy

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 2:56 pm

  • Current location of all companions (what settlement you sent them to -- I keep forgetting, and it's irritating to port around from place to place searching for them)

  • Companion affiliation level (if a companion is 10% liking me and close to leaving me because I'm doing something that irritates them, I'd like to know that. Conversely, if a companion is 90% close to the romance level with me, I'd like to know that, too)

  • Faction affiliation level (if I'm enemies with the Brotherhood, I'd like to know that -- especially difficult to remember when traveling with Danse at certain times [no spoilers], or if the Railroad is irked with me because I'm taking Brotherhood quests first, a percentage marker of their like of me might be useful, so I can decide which side of the fence I want to walk on)

  • Settlement inventory in the workshop (I'd like to be able remember where I put my special items, like the Silver Shroud costume, or when I'm shopping at Diamond City Market, to be able to easily see if I have enough Steel in Kingsport or Oberland Station, or if I need to buy more to build over there)

  • Current status of power armor's repair needs (I'd like to know the percentage of health of each limb, torso, and head of my power armor, so I can know whether I need to rush off to a frame to repair it or if I can make one last run on the Gunners before the armor is too damaged to be effective...mostly, the weight of carrying around the broken limbs is a heavy burden that can slow my combat down tremendously)

What would YOU like to see, everyone?

Some great suggestions there! I would also like to see Companion affiliation levels and also, some marker of where they are.

Overall levels of materials would be nice, too, so I know whether I should buy those 100 steel when I'm in DC. It doesn't need to be detailed by settlement, since all mine are connected via supply route.

The only other major thing I would like to see is a key ring in the misc. section. I don't want to scroll through all those darn keys anymore!! :)

A keyring for crying out loud. Why that is something found in previous games that is nonexistent here is beyond me.

Broken PA pieces have no weight (oddly enough). Also right now you can use the color coding shown on the PA HUD to see if a part is damaged or about completely broken. It's not exact percentages but should be close enough.

I just want to have a separate sort tab for Keys and Passwords. So tired of having to sort though all of that to find that one item I need. Near end game it's about impossible to find anything.

Only things I want in the pipboy...

1. Better Misc organization, and keyring.
2. Artillery range overlay.

Yes! So sick of seeing the 'Out of Range' message on artillery. I could also better map out where to put them if I knew where they would reach.

Keyring. I would pay money for this.

Agree.. or even a sort by date acquired!

But all of these will most likely be skipped by Beth and fixed by GECK wizards!

Yes, this!

Also, I'd like a "book" where you can keep notes in the same spirit as a keyring keeps keys, and maybe a holotape organizer that does the same thing. Shuffling through that long list of MISC. was tiring (I'm on XBOX, so no mods available to store these items elsewhere, except in a workbench).

What are GECK wizards? Is this a PC term? I play on XBOX, so I miss all the great PC stuff.

Keyring and Notes are already handled by the http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10654/? mod.

Just a journal tab to keep any notes/stuff, this would probably clean the misc tab up a lot. As far as keys ive never had to go through them, doors either unlock or not. *shrug*

The GECK is the modding hub for fallout, it's where the magic is.

Those are only available to PC players, though. If you're playing on XBOX or PS4, you don't have access to those mods (for now -- this may change, if Bethesda is serious about allowing mods for consoles in future).

I should definitely switch to PC playing, shouldn't I?

It's the ultimate way to go for Bethesda games, though I personally haven't done so since Oblivion for various reasons (mainly that I prefer Macs for my everyday computing). FO4 seriously making me consider investing in a gaming PC just for it (and probably using it to go back to Skyrim with mods, too).

Oh the Skyrim mods alone are worth the investment.

Skyrim being the only game I ever got (and will ever get) a PSN Platinum trophy on, I have little doubt. :tops:

Artillery ranges on the map would be great it would be simple to do if you don't want to clutter up the main map just have another map view like the supply line view for the artillery just hit the same button another time and it goes from supply line to artillery it seems so simple I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet

Which ones? The sketchy ones or the pointless ones?

jk

Ps. The Randy Savage dragon mod is the number one reason to play Skyrim on PC

Lots of good suggestions being tossed out here that I would love to see implemented by Bethesda. That way I could drop some mods and make room for others. LOL

You would be amazed the difference between a PC and one of the consoles when you factor in mods. Its like taking a game you played around 10 years ago and updating the graphics and then tossing in around two dozen DLC's into the mix. Its the same game but so much more as well.

I have a cousin that is big into consoles that was wishing he could do this or that while playing Skyrim a year or so ago while at a family gathering. I finally spoke up and said I could do this or that while playing modded Skyrim on the PC. He came over about a week later and I fired up a modded version of Skyrim for him and turned him lose. He spent an entire day and late into the night playing. The next day I had a request from him to build him a decent gaming PC. It can be done for around $600 to $800. Or you can go all out and build a super gaming PC for $1500 to $2500 depending on just what you want in it.

He then went and bought Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and NV. Then went to town modding them and spent the next year playing through them until FO4 was released. Now his console collection sits under his TV gathering dust and only gets used for FPS games that are just about the same on the console as they are on the PC.

All I want is to be able to USE THE DAMN THING while in Stealth. I get that I have a piece of Chameleon armor, and that it cloaks me... But I should be able to use my damn pipboy.
