If we can't have map node system then yeah I think it might be for the best.
As long as there isn't a dungeon every 50 meters.

Hell no dude.

Let them do what the Star Trek writers mostly do. They insert a [TB] in the script (Meaning Techno Babble) and then send it to the lore and tech department to fill in the blanks. I saw this is a documentary on Star Trek several years ago

I can dig this. If you they could find a way to bring all the things people love about Bethesda games together with all the things people love about what Obsidian has done, it's win-win. Sounds easy in a forum post of course, probably a whole other ball game in reality. One can dream!

My view precisely. See, this particular dispute-plus-solution idea can really point up where the problems could occur: If we're going to go with "what people love about both companies," then which do we get: Borked Steal play-forever (Bethesda ending) or "Game over, reload if you wanna keep playing?" (Obsidian ending)

Do we get "If it could even vaguely be called a location, it has phat lewt" (Bethesda "superior exploration") or "Some places might have nothing but an empty location?" (Obsidian "omg wtf, tihs exploration svcks!")
