Dear Bethesda, thank you for Dogmeat

Agreed.

Thanks Beth for caring as much, despite most players disliking or ignoring the companions altogether. I used to have a dog my entire life up until this current chapter, during which it's simply impossible to give one the care they deserve, so this is very theraqeutical for me. Gameplay disadvantages, crappy AI? So what, I get a lifelike dog still.

Whenever Dogmeat performs his proud pack beta dance upon finding something, I melt inside. Sure, there my still be Raider-bits in his teeth, but it's still so adorable!

Sometimes he spaces out and does oddly dangerous things alright. Mostly right after that, however, I see Dogmeat charge right at some smug Super Mutant Warlord with a Minigun and ripping their arm to shreds while they cry like a baby, and suddenly it's not dumb but fearless. I use that time to dash right up to them, draw my sawed-off and go "Beware of the hound..." before blowing their ugly head off.

Good boy.

I love dogmeat. probably my favorite companion so far. I just wish we could give him a real name instead of being stuck with "Dogmeat" Not something I would ever name a pet, just irks me.
