Dearest Fellow Obliviacs

I recently played through the Temple of the Ancestors of the Blind Moth, or whatever it is called. It took me 4 years of playing till I finally discovered it! Mainly because I stick to the central parts of Cyrodiil. But anyway, I was kind of turned off by it. I thought it would be really epic, but it was kind of boring.

Could one of you modders please take interest in this, and really make it unique and EPIC?

Boring? Heh, well... being a place for monks as it is, being boring is quite a must :D

Anyway, I agree with you that it's a bit too bland. I thought it's well-guarded or something, but a simple sneak-through was what I need XD

It is just that I found it AFTER I had been playing Clifford's LOSING MY RELIGION....and I felt it had a lot to be desired compared to LMR.

I hear you Richard. When I first came across it, I was wondering where the giant ferocious man-eating blind moth that I was supposed to kill was. :P

It just was kind of ANTI-EPIC to me. The landscape around the area could use UL type of work...etc...

I remember the first time I did that one, sneaking through there, sure I was going to get Killed any second, and... Nothing, I wanted to go back through a pound on a drum.

Sure, I think it could and should be improved in everything...cosmetics, quests, maybe joinable faction...maybe even make it somehow related to the LOSING MY RELIGION monastaries and LMR's knighly orders.

It would be a total blast if it even gets improved only a little bit. (I know it is hard to double or triple zero, but lets just think of it as ADDING IMPROVEMENT!)

Hey Richard, since you brought up the Temple of the Ancestor Moths, I thought you might like this! http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/238-the-temple-of-five-lanterns/

A different temple, but a cool temple all the same. :)

Thanks Fiore, I have that in my game already. But I have not even gone to explore it yet! So many things to do...not enough time!

Haha, always one step ahead of me Richard! And...likewise. I have so many mods I haven't even experienced most of them yet either. In due time, in due time. :)

That would be nice. I've done it lots of times (with vanilla its a source for high level rings) and always think it's very cool but too easy - the end fight in particular is anticlimactic. Other than that, cool setting and cool enemies. In short, personally I'd be happy with boosted Blind Moth Prelates and an even more boosted "boss".

Let me just throw this out there...

This temple is part of the TG quest-line, right? So it makes sense that the focus is on sneaking and not on combat. That said, could I suggest two things?

1) If you "overhaul" this thing, don't turn it into another slash 'n smash dungeon. That would totally break the quest.

2) Alternatively, turn it into whatever you want - AFTER the TG quest is over.

Just my $0.02,

had a look at my wip in game, here are some screenshots:

http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/2812/tam04.jpg
http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/5494/tam01.jpg
http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/4839/tam02.jpg, and http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/5270/tam03.jpg.
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/4859/tam06.jpg
http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/1696/tam05.jpg

right now, it is a purely cosmetic modification - nothing in the dungeon has been altered. I'll probably finish it up as such and release it to get it out there and off my back. ideally, however, here is what i'd do:
-expansion of the Moth Priests as a faction. probably not joinable, but with quests for the player and a clear hierarchy of priests
-exploration of the lore surrounding the moth priests and cyrodiil cult in general. essentially, bringing back the PGE1 vision of cyrodiil religion through books, environments, characters, quests, and dialog.
-overhaul of the TG dungeon, making it a more challenging fight and providing clear ways of avoiding said fight via stealth. whats the point of sneaking if you can easily kick the enemies butts?
-new or retextured meshes for clothing, religious equipment, and architecture. moth priests dressed in nothing but tattoos and moths, which fly off upon engaging in conversation? yes please

how much of this actually happens will depend on the demand for these features, whether i manage to get a job this summer, and the situation over in hammerfell.

Any update on this, Lady Nerevar?
I loaded up all my mods in TES4EDIT and apart from the "obligatory" edits made by UOP and ALL Natual none of my mods touch the area, not even OOO.

Oh, that's a very cool looking overhaul of the location. I'd definitely use that. The "temple" as it stands now is pretty mundane.
