I started one, didn't get past about 15, though. Not because it svcked, but just because I'm more of a Paladin type. What I did was two-handed weapons, I was using steel plate armor, perking in Conjuration for the zombie, two-handed for melee damage, and in Destro so I could have ice spike as sort of a Icy Touch opener. Also had the frost shout, which felt awesome.

That's the way I would go too. Two-Handed, Destruction/Ice, Illusion/Fear, Conjuration/Undead, Heavy Armor

I usually go one handed with either conjuration spell or destriction magic, and like everyone else I use heavy armor.

I have been playing a http://www.skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=706 helping cats out of trees and that sort of thing, but recently contracted vampirism. I spontaneously made up a rule that whenever the sun goes down I start playing http://www.skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=10320, then when the sun rises I do everything I can to get cured or atone for the sins of the night before... until the sun sets again. Its only been going for a couple of nights so I'm not even sure what vampiric powers await yet.

Hence, I am a part-time http://www.skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=10321. You cant really tell but that's Ebony Armour with an Elven Battleaxe for meting out injustice.

That's pretty neat, lol. I could be daytime paladin, nighttime deathknight, haha.

Probably best heavy at that level is going to be Steel. Or the Steel plate. Neither look extremely Death Knight-ish, but the steel plate looks pretty good with the steel horned helmet until you get the dark ebony and daedric later.

I didnt see any steel armour until I was quite badass already, and only just found Ebony at level 33. Not a hint of Daedric yet. The best heavy I found early on was Dwemer, but it isnt exactly DARK.

Yeah, the Steel can be bought, or made by you at a forge, or looted from certain individuals, but you can buy it/make it before you'll start seeing it on enemies. The Steel Plate won't start coming widely available for awhile, and it still won't be around a lot. The way I got it was if you go into the inn at Whiterun, there's a companion you can get named Uthgerd (I think I spelled it right), she's wearing the steel plate armor. If you beat her in a fist fight, she'll agree to be your follower. You can take her somewhere and kill her and get the steel plate to yourself. The horned steel and iron helmets are pretty common in dungeons.

The armor that will really look dark and nice for a deathknight will be much later levels when you can get ebony and daedric. Daedric shouldn't start dropping until around 46 or so.

Edit: Here's my dual wield guy in the steel plate and horned steel helmet. It's not extremely death knight, but it's about as good as it gets until ebony starts dropping.

You have inspired me to make a character like this. I imagine wielding a sword or something in one hand and spells in the other. Kind of a kin to Bioshock, but totally bad.

For me I'm thinking D&D style blackguard. Heavy armor, alchemy for poison, mace, conjuration, sneak. Then Smithing or enchanting (I never take both because it makes the game too easy).
