Death Knight Help

Post » Fri Sep 06, 2013 8:54 pm

I'm looking to do this:

-Heavy Armor (Daedric or Ebony)

-Two-Handed (Unsure yet, but something evil)

-Conjuration (to summon undead, daedra, etc)

But I'm use to Skyrim - not Oblivion - and I'd like some help.

Where would I go to learn some Conjuration spells? Any other tips you can give me?

Well, it's a sort of similar set up to Skyrim : The best spells in general, including conjuration, can be bought from the magical institution ( Although in this game, that is the mages guild) . You also don't have to join the guild to get most of the spells, excluding the arcane university.

Otherwise, there's a few magic shops kicking around the Imperial city, but there not exactly great, and also spell tomes, if you have it

Ah yes, another thing, you buy spells rather than spell tomes in oblivion, doesn't make such a huge difference. \And "soul trap" is part of the lost magic group "mysticism" - so if your hoping to do that, you will need to branch out a bit.

As for your claymore, in oblivion weapon skills are graded as " Blade and Blunt" rather than " One handed and two- handed" - This means a claymore will be a "blade" rather than a "two handed" - a small but important difference!!

And it's going to be a long time until you get Daedric / Ebony, although the same goes in Skyrim.

Okay, thanks.

Yeah I got summon Ghost, Skeleton, and Zombie and used them a few times. Pretty neat, if they could hold their own in battle.

Meanwhile I need to work on getting better armor and a weapon.

I am not exactly sure what a death knight is but Oblivion has a lot more spell effects than Skyrim does and some of them may fit into your build.

As mentioned, Mysticism has soul trap. It also has
Spoiler
Dispel, which will bring down an enemy summon. Basically Dispel terminates and magical effect caused by another spell, either on you or an enemy, depending whether it is cast on self, target or touch. Mysticism also has spell reflection and spell absorbtion, but they are high level spells.

Restoration has
Spoiler
absorb health, absorb magicka, absorb fatigue, absorb skill and absorb attribute. With those, you can svck the life or other life energies right out of a person.

Destruction has
Spoiler
drain and damage health, and drain skill and drain attribute (though drain attribute is hard to come by). Destruction also has weakness to magic, weakness to fire, frost and shock and weakness to poison. Destruction also has spells that let you disintigrate an opponents armor an weapons.
