Post » Thu Apr 02, 2009 6:43 am

I was just thinking, how cool would it be to have one of those enclave controlled deathclaws as a companions. That would be so sick maybe too overpowered idk? hopefully in a future game. WHat do you guys think about it?

This doesnt belong in Fallout New Vegas's forum. But, I think itd be better to just have a baby deathclaw I don't really like the enclave but maybe for FO4

Make it a talking one too, as they all survived entirely on my FO2 playthrough...
So this time I can finish the darn job...

I do wish for a http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Wanamingo companion however.
I'll call him / her / it / them, Roxie.

I'd take the Lady too, but she's far too tough for my softie playstyle and will grow bored with me in seconds.

Took the words out of my mouth.

It's been done. They should come up with something original.

Id enjoy a animal companion that is considered a humonoid follower.I hate veronica's incompetence when ti comes to closing the distance with enemies with her fists. They could give a deathclaw as a companion but make it require 2 follower slots >_>

I'm easy going. As long as I get my morning coffee and gecko-jerky that is. Does Sunset Sarsaparilla have caffeine?

A Super Mutant : FO2, FO3 and New Vegas (nightkin)
A Dog named Dogmeat: FO1, FO2 and FO3
A robot Dog: FO2 and FO New Vegas
A Casidy: FO2 and New Vegas.
A Robot Follower: FO2, FO3 and New Vegas.
A Ghoul: FO3 and New Vegas

I don't see your point... Its been done yes but not over done. I'll agree another Talking deathclaw would be odd for New Vegas.

I forgot Lenny, thanks gabriel77dan.

 and if not?

Ok just to be a complete nerd I checked out Sarsaparilla on the inter web, it seems that whole "side effects" dialogue that Ol' Festus does has some merit.

Just about the root.
As with any drug of any type, sarsaparilla root should be considered from the point of potential side effects. The fact that the root works on hormones suggests a few people need to avoid it. Those who have prostate enlargement might have their condition worsen with regular use. It’s unclear how its use would affect pregnant or nursing women or developing children. Anti-inflammatory properties may mean the drug is unsuitable for people who take any form of blood thinner.

And
Significant damage isn’t likely to result from drinking a beverage with sarsaparilla in it, since it is present in very low amounts. More care needs to be taken if sarsaparilla root is being routinely used. Moreover, people need to follow instructions and not exceed dosing. Higher doses correspond to stomach upset and the body may have adverse reactions or allergies to any dose. People should get medical help right away if symptoms of anaphylaxis occur after consumption. These include hives, wheezing, difficulty breathing, and swelling of the face, lips, mouth and tongue.

So most likely it's an Enclave plot to kill off the wastelanders by refreshing drinks, and restocking the machines constantly with the aid of the Mole people.
Just like they use the deathclaws as shock troopers and masseur's.
No caffine found yet, damn those Enclave gits... Damn them.

i honestly think that ANY deathclaw baby, young, or otherwise would make the game way to easy. i mean i just cleared out quarry junction with a sniper rifle shooting one and letting it chase me, the second a deathclaw sees an enemy it will go beserk and you won't have time to even go into vats.

They're not really. They play a small part though (but I won't spoil it).

I want to have an Enclave deathclaw in Fallout 3 though. :woot:

Best. Friends. Forever. We'd get into all kinds of shenanigans!

Me: Hey guys where did Sentinal Lyons go?

*all look at deathclaw*

*who looks towards his stomach*

Copied from an old thread:

I'm liking the idea of the FEV mutated Deathclaw. Just expanding on the basic story here...

This young Deathclaw was the runt of his litter, and when the Enclave raided a Deathclaw nesting ground, they only took the weaker ones (for ease of handling). This subject was the only one to survive the mutation sadly. When he came out of the FEV, he had the intelligence of an extremely cultured human and had a modified voice box. If you ask him how he managed to live 200 years, he tells you: "Imagine cryogenics for dinosaurs. Although the power went out only recently, so I was able to escape the confines of that damned pod."

Before you can recruit him as a follower, he will bring up the point that any sane human would flee from a Deathclaw on site. So you must spread the word around to all major communities by e-mailing Mr. New Vegas via a terminal so he can state on the air about the couriers new "companion". If you have a Speech of 80 and "Very Good" reputation, you can convince him that nobody will attack him once they notice that he is with you. Alternatively, you can leave him alone or give him directions to Dead Wind Cavern (he will go reluctantly since he is obviously human in the mind).

He looks like (and is about the same size) a young Deathclaw, but with curved horns rather then 'stubs' and he is slightly darker in color. He has poor Perception and Charisma, average Agility and Luck, fairly high Strength and Intelligence, and very very high Endurance. If you tell him to use Ranged combat, he will state "How the hell do I hold a rifle with these giant claws?"
