Deathclaws too easy?

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 5:23 am

I've faced off with a couple now and noticed that some Ultra Jet, stimpacks, and a good machete make quick work of them. Thoughts?

Depends on player level and using power armor or not. For my stealth canon glass sniper they are very hard.

I've been going around without Power Armor just in-case I stumble across a new suit. I have no buffs to melee and tend to charge them head on. The slow-mo helps admittedly haha.

Seeing as how my first experience involved being picked up and having my head ripped off with a kill cam, I would say hard.

The use of tactics like Ultrajet, Stimpaks, or terrain/obstacles etc, do allow me to kill them, but that is why I voted hard. Can't just walk, up and duke it out, must employ some form of tactics.

Eh. Backpedaling breaks them.

Edit: in my experience, at least. They can never catch me if I just backpedal and shoot them in their enormous and easily target able godzilla heads

I've read that their weakness is their squishy bellies and that anywhere that has dark scales is armored.

They certainly are as dangerous as you would expect, but everything becomes a push over compared to the Sentry Bot in this game. That damn death machine will follow you to the ends of the earth with pin point accuracy at lightning speed.

All robots seem to have gotten a major upgrade from previous games.

Go to the Glowing Sea and put "Survival Mode" on. You'll eventually run into a couple of Legendary deathclaws, and they should give you a run for your money.

My sniper has to use an awfull lot of ammo to kill em and that is with the stealth bonus as well. so no i dont find them too easy to kill...And those assault bots and sentry bots ..talk abt insta death.

To my way of thinking, this represents a tactic that supports my position! ;)

I too, will use backpedaling to my advantage. However, backpedaling is the exact tactic that failed me in my first encounter. Backpedaled into a parked car or street light or some such.

Death Claw: Grabs me and picks me up into the air. Glowers at me. Draws back right claw for a blow.

Game: Your head is crippled, use a Stimpak.

Kill cam: my head wheeling through the air.

Seriously. Those and the Assaultrons are super deadly. I also hate the Kamikaze Super Mutants aka Master Chief. (Think back to the previous Halo ending.)

Tip for those... shoot their right arm. It'll kill them and all their friends before they get a shot off :)

Seems to be the case. Even Protectrons can be deadly depending on which version it is. I was killed instantly by the nail gun. But that Sentry Bot...was eating my missiles like they were Fancy Lad Snack Cakes.

But what makes them worse (like all robots) is that the more damaged they get the more aggressive they become.

I always want the mini nuke so I go for the feet haha. I just hate bum rushing a mutant base only to hear the beeping of a mini nuke and seeing the red glow coming from another room. It keeps things interesting though haha.

For my sniper, Deathclaws are an issue if I don't get the first shot - if he sees me first. Usually I just run, until I drop to "caution" - then go back and snip.

The robots are another matter - most are easy but a few.. there's one at the National Guard Station (outside in the back parking lot) that is a nightmare.

That was the first sentry bot I ran into in Fallout 4! If I hadn't have found the Power Armor in the base I would have been mincemeat. I was running around with weaker weapons too with no grenades since I was low on ammo and early on in the game. Thankfully the roof access was nearby as well.

Luckily, I've only encountered 1 since Concord. Fat man worked wonders on it, lol.

At first they were deliciously challenging, but now they're very easy.

I wouldn't say they're too easy. You don't exactly make light work of them even using a minigun and power armour.

They're easy if you're level 59 with a two-shot, modded assault rifle, even on Very Hard difficulty.

Anything that can be killed with a pistol should not be considered hard!
